She held a warmth that I had never experienced in my life. I had been with other women before, but Lyla held an innocence that I had never encountered. I could no longer deny the fact that Lyla was everything I feared and wanted all at the same time. I feared loving another being so much, but my feelings for Lyla were too much to abandon. The love that I experienced for Lyla was like nothing I had felt before, for anyone. I felt the need to protect her, to be near her. Her head rested on my chest as I held her into my body, not daring to let go in fear that everything that just happened was a dream. Her breaths were slow and deep against me, as I pressed a kiss against the side of her temple.

Only a few hours had passed, and the night still ensued around us, but none of that mattered. My grip on Lyla loosened as she turned to face me. My hand held her face as I brushed my thumb over her cheek. A soft smile pulled at the side of her mouth as she shyly took in what had happened.

"I don't think I've ever experienced anything like that before." She mumbled between the sheets, her fingers intertwining with my own.

I quirked an eyebrow, my ego heightened. "Oh, is that so?" I inquired through a smirk.

Lyla bit the inside of her cheek, slightly pulling back. "Hmm, maybe I shouldn't give you that much credit." She teased incredulously.

My mouth fell open in fake offense and my fingers tightened around hers, "Excuse me?" I hummed, my smile deepening as laughs came from both our lips.

Before I had the chance to pull Lyla back in and chastise her for such a comment, something in ground shifted. A sudden crashing noise boomed from the floor. Lyla jumped in my grasps, suddenly confused and afraid. Screams echoed in the hallway. Alarmed, I pulled myself up from the bed and stared at the door, a million thoughts running into my mind. Lyla arose from the bed as well, straightening her dress.

"What was that?" She wondered aloud, her eyes landing on me.

I usually had an answer to everything, but this time I wasn't sure. I rounded around the bed and came to Lyla's side, holding her wrist in my hand as I led us towards the door. "Suppose we'll see." I whispered. Lyla kept close to my side as I cautiously pressed the door open, preparing myself for anything. To my left a figure came sprinting down the corridor and I recognized it as a guard of Asgard. We made eye contact and he froze, bowing.

He looked at me desperately and his voice matched. "Sir," he gasped, almost inaudibly for the screams and noises had increased. "An army is here. You must find safety, people are dying. It's war!" The guard cried, then ran from the area, abandoning his post completely.

My body solidified. My vision went dark when my eyes rolled into the back of my head as I particularly remembered something. Something that was important. Something that I had forseen before. Something that my demons had dragged me into, but I had instantly forgotten. But now I was remembering...

The dark figure circled around me, a thick, shadowed fog following him. I could only make out his eyes, for he wore a hooded cloak, his eyes were a gleaming red. The shade of red that only was seen in the presence of dark magic, and creatures.

I wasn't in Asgard. I was in a far planet that was familiar to me, but it wasn't so fresh in my mind that the name could come to mind. The planet seemed barren except for the rocky throne that was to my right and descended out. But I would not pretend that we were alone. There was probably followers close by, watching.
