"I'm crazy, allow me to amaze thee/ They say I'm ugly, but it just don't faze me"
The Humpty Dance, Digital Underground
"So..." Karma began sweetly, trying to contain her laughter, "What's up with your boy?"
"Nothing like his picture."
"Yeah, I noticed. Mine is cute, but yours..." Karma laughed, "I don't know about that one."
Deja rolled her eyes, keeping them focused on the road. "Well, I hope he's nice."
"Nice?"
"Yeah, nice. A good personality, he can't be ugly and have a fucked up attitude. That'd be doing too much."
They both laughed, knowing how true that was, the chance for an ugly guy was limited, and a messed up personality nixed it completely.
"Well, if he's ballin' - which I'm sure he is- seeing how he got a cell phone, and if he knows how to eat, that's something to work with."
Deja sighed, "I'm not even on that, I just want to have a good time." Deja made a left turn, and scrunched up her face "did you see his grill! "
"Girl, yes!" conjuring up a visual, Karma grimaced. His teeth looked like they had met up with a brick, which, considering the dents and scars on his face, he probably did.
"Ok, then. So you see why my coochie won't be finding anything out!" They turned onto Cherise's street, "I gotta remember to ask how recent the pictures are next time, because this ain't even fair." Deja parked in front of Cherise's house, embarrassed to bring Ace inside to meet the rest of her friends.
"Let that be a lessoned learned to ya." Karma laughed, the situation was crazy funny to her, though she knew it shouldn't be, but she couldn't help it, seeing Deja's face when she came face to face with Ace was classic. Though she had kept her smile up, Karma knew her friend all too well and was able to read right through the pleasantness to see her pissed-off-ness. "I wonder how Recie and Faye are gonna react."
"Oh, Karma...", Deja whined, reluctantly getting out of the car. "Please don't go there."
Introductions were made, with looks of shock on Faye and Cherise's face being hard to conceal. With drinks and doobies, the group of eight had a short kick it session before jumping into Devin's ride.
The Geto Boys New Resurrection CD pumped out the speakers with mad bass as they took to the streets. On their way to a hookah bar in Riverside, the night was clear, and felt nice for a February. The windows were down, Geto Boys rapped about their minds playing tricks on them, and more blunts were passed, along with bottles taken along for the ride. They would use this twenty-minute cruise to get right.
Karma was taking pleasure in her position up front with the sexy brotha that seemed to have it going on. The Dub-C beard fit him well. Not many men could rock that three braid style. She peeped his cell phone, and enjoyed his Issey Miyake cologne. He was cool, and their conversation was far from G-rated, as they passed a plastic cup of Martel, and blunt between themselves.
"So, what's up with you, Devin? Glad you came out tonight?"
"Hell, yeah, get to kick it wit' sexy ass Karma Sutra. A nigga good."
"Good, we're gonna have a good time."
In the second row of seats sat a disgruntle Deja, and a disconcerted Ace. He knew she was mad about his face, but he was gonna fuck with her anyway. Make a game out of it. Ace kept re-directing her shifting conversations to sex, as she tried to talk about music, movies, sports-whatever, as long as it wasn't sex. But, he wasn't giving in easily, she wanted to talk about it all last week as they chatted on-line, so now she needed to be about it.
