It was a rainy day. I quickly got out of bed, made my bed, did my hair, getting ready for school. After about 30 minutes of getting ready and eating breakfast, I quickly grabbed my umbrella and walked to school. I see Mai slip on a puddle and land head first on the streets. It was the smoother street floor, though. "Owowowowoow!" she kept saying as she got up. I helped her, of course. "Hey, best friend Mai, you should be more careful... I don't want you to die," I said to her. "Alright, best friend Zach," she giggled. We both carefully walked to school, being cautious as to not slip like Mai did. Mai kept rambling on and on about her playing Osu! and kept asking me to play with her. I just kept saying no because I hate that game so much. I was surprised that we didn't bump into anyone from the gaming club when Mai and I finally got to school.
It was a normal like usual. Nothing special really happened. I just doodled around in one of my notebooks as the teacher talked. It was a very uneventful day for me. I was walking to the club room when I saw Vampire outside of the room, just staring into space, smiling. Not really in a genuine way, but more of a sadistic way. I quickly walked into the room, making sure to be as quiet as possible. "Are you going somewhere without saying hello to me, Zachariah? Don't go in there! The people will just brainwash you and make you insane! Stay with me, here, instead!" she said as she jerked her head to me and saw me trying to go inside. I heard laughter and talking in the clubroom, as she said that. I got very scared and quickly ran into the clubroom, running straight to Luna. "L-Luna!" I call out. "Oh! Hello, Zach," she says in her usual optimistic persona. "V-Vampire! Outside! Scary! Tried going in! Quietly! Said scary shit! WHAT THE FUCK!" I yelled out of panic, half not expecting her to understand what I just said. "Uh, Zach. Take a deep breath and calm down," she said genuinely. Everyone in the clubroom, which were Memey, Shadow, Frown, Blaede, and Panda, were looking at me and Luna, now. I took a deep sigh and kept doing that for several seconds. When I finally came to the conclusion that I was calm, I started to say to Luna, "Okay, V-Vampire is outside and is being creepy as shit. She said something like, 'Zach don't leave me! Stay with me! Don't go into the clubroom! They'll brainwash you!' and I ran into the clubroom and panicked and then here we are," I said slowly and calmly. "O-oh... Oh..." Luna said with a serious, disappointed facial expression. "Hey, Zach!" Shadow yelled from across the room. "Yeah?" I answered back. "Did you see Mai, today? She isn't here yet and the club is almost half way in. She'll be marked absent if she's not here. Yeah, I'm in charge of roll!" she yelled back at me. "I walked to school with her today. She had a more tired expression than most of the days I saw her. She was even more clumsy and sluggish, today. I think she went home to sleep or take a break," I said. I remembered the picture. Suddenly, a rush of panic stormed through me, again. "I...I have to go check on something, first! Sorry! Goodbye," I quickly said as I rushed out of the clubroom. I didn't care if Vampire saw me again. I didn't care if Luna was disappointed that I left. I didn't care about Shadow's roll. I didn't care about anything to worry about right now. I had to go check on my friend. I stormed into Mai's house and quickly ran to her room. I knocked a few times. "Mai?!" I screamed. "Y-yes?" That didn't sound like her... "May I come in?" "N-no! Please go away!" I managed to make 'her' say a few more words. It definitely didn't sound like her. "I'm coming in!" I say as I quickly open the door. I-it's not Mai... It's...!
