“Mom? Mom, wake up! Mom please!”

I groaned, lifting my head. My whole body felt as if I had been set on fire, doused, then lit again. My eyes opened and the area cleared as I was aware of the bodies scattered around me, some human, the rest dragons. What frightened me most was that the only things alive were the dragons, every human body was bloodied and ripped. I gagged, looking away. “Mom, are you ok?” I heard from my left. I looked up to see Ikris trapped in Jerome’s grasp. I stumbled to my feet as I rushed over to him. I frantically shook Jerome, who growled and opened his eyes. “W-What happened?” He asked me as he realized Ikris was struggling in his grip to get away. He released Ikris as he sat up and looked around at the surroundings. We were stuck in a huge pit made from netherrack, no escape. “Mitch!” Jerome said quickly as he jumped up and ran to the lava dragon that was curled into a ball against one of the walls. “Biggums, wake up!” Jerome begged as he nuzzled Mitch on the forehead. The lava dragon opened his eyes and blinked sleepily as he nuzzled the end of Jerome’s snout contently.

“What’s up?” Mitch asked as Jerome pushed him to his feet. “Where in the nether are we?” Jerome asked me as he ignored Mitch’s questions. “That’s just it. We’re in the Nether somewhere. We need to wake everyone else up.” I commanded. To my luck, they listened. In a few short minutes, we had everyone awake. Now everyone was talking at the same time as they tried to figure out what was happening. Adam came to stand beside me as I cradled Ikris in my wing thoughtfully. “What is going on?” Adam asked me as he watched the group in despair. I frowned as I closed my eyes and shifted Ikris closer to me. “I don’t know. I don’t even know how we got here.” I said softly. He shifted uncomfortably next to me and I opened my eyes to stare at him. “Did you have something to do with this?” I asked him as Ikris slowly started to fall asleep. He closed his eyes as he put a claw in his mouth and snuggled farther down into the netting of my wing. “Well, you know I was gone this morning with your brother and Jason, right? We were headed toward Jason’s place to look at the computer to see what was wrong with the files. Your brother was trying to fix it when this black ink stuff started spreading through the room. All I know is that it started touching us and it hurt like the nether, then we woke up here.” he told me. I glared at him as my tail smacked the ground, hard. The vibrations silenced the group as they turned to stare at us.

“You mean to tell me, we are here and Ikris is in danger because you wanted to go and fix a file?” I snarled at him. He glared right back at me, teeth bared. “I was trying to help us all.” He growled as his eyes flashed menacingly. I could feel my coat electrify and I handed Ikris to Mitch before I would electrocute him. The lightning electric lines stuck to my skin like static, and I glared at Adam ferociously. “The fuck you were. You aren’t in this for anyone but yourself. You just want to get out of here so you can go back to your lonely life. You never gave a damn about me, Ikris, or anyone else.” I said. His eyes flashed, the brown color turning to white. “Lies. You’re lying. I care for my friends, all of them-” “And is that why we are here now? Stuck waiting for death?” I cut him off and a bolt of lightning flashed from his side. Rubix growled menacingly as he took a step forward to force Adam to back off of me. I stuck a wing out. “No. Let me handle this.” I said. Unhappily, he listened and grabbed Ikris from Mitch before curling into a protective shield in the corner of the room.

“If I didn’t try, then we would be stuck as dragons forever.” Adam said as he took a step closer to me. His chest touched mine, but I didn’t back off. “Well, you did a great fucking job at solving that problem.” I snarled. He growled at me, snapping at the air threateningly. I heard Rubix growl. “Bring it on. I dare you.” I said as I shoved him backwards. He snarled and pounced, shoving me onto the ground. I let out a noise of strain as I tried to force him off of me, but his claws digged into the soft flesh on my wings, and I roared in anger and pain. He grinned a malicious grin, one that wasn’t familiar to him, and I froze as I looked into the white eyes that were dangerous and demon-like. He laughed as his teeth sank into the flesh on my shoulder, and I wailed in pain as I tried to get out of his grasp. The guys must have realized something was incredibly wrong because alarm went up in the group as Jason and Ty jumped forward to pull Adam off me. Jerome and Mitch pulled me away from Adam quickly, putting themselves between me and him in protective stances. Adam just laughed darkly as blood dripped from his mouth. I watched in horror as his coat lit briefly, and Jason and Ty collapsed on the ground.
