epilogue

arielle *five years later*

It’s been five years ever since Chris left me at the altar. I only see or talk to him, only when it involves our five year old son, Josiah Cameron Santiago-Brown. Speaking of our son, it’s his weekend to go stay with his daddy. I got out of the bed, walking down the hall to his bedroom. I walked in, over to his bed. I began to tickle him.

‘’Mommy, stop it!’’ He squealed, laughing. I picked him up, kissing him all over his face.

‘’Goodmorning, Josiah.’’ I said, putting him down. He hugged onto my leg. This little boy is my everything. ‘’Go get ready, remember your going to your daddy’s house for the weekend.’’ I said. He ran into his little ensuite. Josiah is very smart for a five year old. I walked out of his bedroom, back down to my bedroom.

I walked into my ensuite, stripping out of my pajamas. I stepped into the hot shower, letting everything go. Ever since that day, I haven’t even looked at Chris the same. Everytime I see him, I’m reminded of that day. I stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my body.

I walked into my bedroom, sitting down on my bed. I rubbed cocoa butter lotion all over my body. I walked into my walk-in closet. I slid on a white Victoria’s Secret bra with matching thong. I slipped on a white Disobey tee shirt, acid wash Fashion Nova high waist skinny jeans, with white/fire red/cement grey/black Air Jordan 3 retro. I walked into the bathroom, putting my hair up into a bun.

‘’Mommy!’’ I heard Josiah yell. I walked out of my bathroom, down to his bedroom. He was looking fly.

‘’Yeah Josh?’’ I asked, bending down to his height.

‘’Have you seen my Spongebob toy?’’ He asked, looking around.

‘’It’s in the car. Are you ready?’’ I asked. He nodded his head. I walked down to my bedroom, grabbing my iPhone 5s. I walked back out, walking downstairs. I grabbed Josiah’s hand then we walked out to the house. We walked over to my 2014 white Dodge Journey SXT. I opened the backdoor, putting Josiah into his carseat. I closed the door, jogging to the other side. I got into the driver seat. I hit the button, pulling off.

‘’Mommy, what are you going to do after you drop me off?’’ Josiah asked.

‘’I don’t know, maybe go to uncle Ryan’s house.’’ I said, turning the corner. My responsibilities for my child come first. I pulled up to Chris’s house. Josiah and I got out, walking up the pathway. I knocked on the door, waiting for him to answer the door. Chris opened the door, looking at us.

‘’Hey Josh.’’ Chris said, picking Josiah up. I love their relationship, it’s so cute. ‘’Hey Arielle.’’ He said, smiling.

‘’Hi Christopher. I’ll be back Sunday afternoon. See you later, Josiah.’’ I said, pecking his cheek.

‘’No mommy, stay for a while.’’ He whined.

‘’Baby, you have to be with daddy.’’ I said. He started crying, making me heartbroken. ‘’Alright, Josiah I’ll stay for a little bit.’’ I said. I walked into the house, looking around. It hasn’t changed one bit. I walked into the living room, sitting down on the couch. Josiah ran into the playroom, leaving Chris and I sitting there. I haven’t stepped foot into this house ever since that day I left with all of my stuff. I just hand Josiah to Chris then leave.

‘’How are you?’’ He asked, trying to spark a conversation.

‘’Great.’’ I said, looking down at my phone. There is this man I’m interest in. He serves in the military.

‘’Arielle, I’m sorry for what happened five years ago.’’ He said. I looked away from him, remembering that day.

‘’It’s in the past Chris. It’s long behind me.’’ I said. It’s about time that I leave before I start catching old feelings. ‘’I have to be going, make sure Josiah getting his Asthma medicine before he goes to be.’’ I said, getting up. Chris got up. We hugged tightly.

‘’Remember that I will always love you Arielle.’’ He said. We pulled away from the hug, then Chris pecked my lips.

‘’Same for me.’’ I said, turning around. I walked out of the house to see Karrueche walking up with her daughter, Kennedy.

 ‘’Hey Arielle.’’ She said, smiling.

‘’Hi Karrueche, how are y’all?’’ I asked, looking down at Kennedy.

‘’Good is Josiah here?’’ She asked.

‘’Yes, I just dropped him off. I’ll be seeing you.’’ I said, walking down on the pathway. I walked down to my car.

‘’Arielle wait!’’ Someone shouted. I turned to see Chris, with my phone in his hand. ‘’Here, you left your phone.’’ He said. I took the phone away from him.

‘’Thank you. I’ve gotta get going. Enjoy your time with Josiah.’’ I said, getting into my car. Chris looked at me with heartbreak. I pulled off, thinking about Chris and that look. I can’t do it, he’s not about to break my heart again, like he did when he left me at the altar. I stopped at the place where it all began, the beach. I got out of the car, walking down to the beach. ‘’This is where it all began for this new life, I’m living.’’ I said, looking around.

I never in a million years would I have the life I have now. I have my handsome son and a ex who I still love. Where does my true love come in? I thought Chris was my true love but I seen his true colors. He gave me the best present in the world, our son.

Josiah has been the one to keep me from going insane. If it wasn’t for him, I would have did away with myself years ago. I’m thankful for everything and everyone who is in my life. Without them I probably would have went insane.

What do you think? Well, sadly the book is over. It’s been wonderful writing this book. Except some more Chris Brown, Mindless Behavior, & August Alsina books on the way. Please check out more of my books. Leave a comment, vote, follow, and leave a comment.-Daniella
