My large Algebra book falls to the floor, my pens and pencils follow it including the four leave clover charm that had broken off my bracelt. I stumble to the floor picking up all of my belongings, and hugging them to my chest.

Emma did it on purpose, she bumped into my arm forcefully to make me screw up in the middle of the hallway. She made me look like a fool. She's never liked me because I have a crush on the same person she does. Which I don't know why she would be like mad or jealous because Carter would never be with me ever!

As I put the things I collected in my book bag, I never found my four leave clover charm that was connected to my bracelet. As I scatter the carpet floor running my fingers across the multicolored fabric, I can sense someone is kneeling next to me. I look to my side to see the boy I have had a crush on since 6th grade, I like him not only for his looks but for his kind heart and humble mind.

He set 2 pencils in my hand followed by the charm I almost lost.

"Thanks Carter, I appreciate it."

I kept looking at the charm he set in my hand and not giving eye contact because I've never really talked to a boy before.

He held my chin and tilted my head up so I had to look at him.

"Anytime."

we both stared at each other for a moment, a moment that felt like an eternity. He shakes his head a little then says,

"Well, class is about to start so I'm gonna go... but I will talk to you next time, ok."

I casually reply with,

"sounds good, see ya later."

I get my book bag then start to walk only to find out we both walk in the same direction. We both let out giggles which I thought was cute.

"Well Maddy, since we're walking in the same direction, can I have your number while we have the time?"

I can feel my skin start to get hot and can tell I was getting a little "blushy".

"Sure, it's 555-0174"

He wrote it down in his contacts. Then as I stalked his phone screen he put an arrow struck heart emoji next to my name which gave me major butterflies in my stomach. But I kept it cool until he walked into his class.

As I walked down the empty hallway, I thought to myself,

"What just happened?"
