What Just Happened?

Chapter 2 -- Suffering On The Inside

As I sit down at my seat, I take out my Algebra book from my bookbag plus a pencil and notebook. All the sudden a hand swipes across my whole desk and everything I had was on the floor once again. I look up to see Emma and her two idiot friends, Taylor and Chloe, at my desk.

Me and Emma would never be friends, we are different in so many ways. For one we wear different clothes, she wears designer clothes that are styles such as skirts short enough to pass school rules. she wears pink and has long straight brown hair. plus she's like 95 pounds. I wear just some hand-me-downs by my older sister. I wear the same jacket almost everyday, and have long blonde wavy hair that's ALWAYS up in a ponytail. and I'm like 140-150 pounds which doesn't pass a lot if people's requirements.

"Hey Maddy, how are you and Carter doing?"

She smacks her gum and smirks at me. She's leaning on my desk with her hand under her chin and her fourarm supporting her so heads on a stilt almost.

"What are you talking about?"

I asked because I really didn't know what she meant.

"You know what I'm talking about, I could read your lips that you gave him your number."

I could tell my face was red and I was getting angry.

"Yeah, I did, he said he wanted to talk sometime."

"and then what?"

"I don't know, maybe that'll be it!"

I was getting mad by then because she always has to do this, like she makes me embarrassed and feel worthless because she thinks it's funny.

she replies with,

"Good..."

she gets up and walks away with her friends. You don't understand how much I wanted to scream in her face and just totally go nuts, but I just let out a breathe and calm down for class.

What Emma reminds me of is that one chick off of Mean Girls... They act so much alike it's sickening.

As I sit in class I, just like any other girl with a crush, write in the back of my notebook on the cardboard

'Maddy Reynolds'

with arrow struck hearts, and infinity signs. I never payed attention to anything my teacher said whoever my teacher was, I never looked up for a moment to see who he was. During that class I made a full piece of art work. And it was surprisingly good...

The class dismissed. Thank goodness we don't have any homework to tonight because I'm just to excited about what happened today. I walked past Emma and her girls with a walk of confidence. What really killed her on the inside was that I waved and smiled at her. I could just see it in her face. It felt pretty good, plus I wasn't doing anything mean. I could have threatened her and done other inappropriate things, but I just decided to kill her with kindness.
