Chapter Three: H'chakde

H'chakde's head snapped toward the cry that had broken the fragile silence. One of the humans, more specifically his human was charging at him. Her teeth were bared and clenched, and her eyes were filled to the brim with nothing but hatred and anger. She jumped at him striking his chest with her fists repeatedly as she shouted up at him.

H'chakde looked down at her. A mixture of confusion and agitation written over his face as he began to question what she hoped to accomplish. Her repeated striking was merely just fuel to the fire. Slowly, his gaze turned to the furry lump in his hand. Was this the reason for her outburst?

After a moment H'chakde had finally become fed up with her antics. He grabbed her up by the shoulder and gave her head another hard smack. The blow causing the human's eyes to shut and for her to go limp completely.

"Is it still breathing?" Kweide asked as he looked down at the human curiously. H'chakde threw her still form over his shoulder and nodded.

"Yes she is, I was tired of her." Kweide gave him a look. One that had become understandable to H'chakde even with the bio-mask still on. "What? I did not hurt her I simply subdued her because she attacked me."

His gaze turned to the human his irritation growing every moment he looked at her. "She is going to be a lot of trouble." He grumbled. Kweide nodded in agreement.

H'chakde took one more look at the furry lump before placing it back in her pack. It seemed very important to the human for some reason. Maybe it could be used for possible leverage in the future. With the way she was going to be, he would need all the leverage that he could get. And the rules didn't say anything about manipulation being out of the question. He let out a quiet trilling sound at this revelation, triumph working its way into his chest. Maybe this task wouldn't be as difficult as he had originally thought.

H'chakde grabbed up the rest of the human's belongings and his own. "It is time for me to return to my quarters." He said turning to look at Kweide. "Good luck with your human.

Kweide nodded slightly, "I think it is you who will be needing luck." He muttered as H'chakde began leaving for his quarters.

As much as the young hunter hated to admit it, H'chakde knew his fellow clan member was right.

H'chakde placed the human on a little mat he had set up in the corner of his room, before heading to his own bed. He opened the humans pack and tipped it over. Allowing the contents to spill out so he could search through them better.

There was much in the pack, but there was almost nothing that would be of use to him. On the bed lay, two-cylinder water carries both covered with little decorations on them, the fluffy thing, and a few boxes made out of weak material that seemed to hold small rations.

H'chakde opened one of the boxes and pulled out one of the rations. He turned it over studying every little bit of it. The encasing also had colorful decorations just like the water carriers. But they were different shapes and symbols. He brought it closer and gave it a sniff. It smelled sweet and a little salty. H'chakde tilted his head, intrigued.

He placed it back in the pack and began shoving everything else back into it. H'chakde had grown bored of looking through the humans things. He was now fulling intending on hiding it from the human for the time being.

But no sooner had he moved to look for a suitable place, did an all too familiar sound reached his ears. He snapped his head toward his quarter's door, someone had opened it. His eyes landed on the human who was standing in the doorway, leaning forward out of the room. Her head moving side to side as she looked in the hall.

H'chakde growled with irritation and quickly moved to her. Being sure to snatch her up before she could notice his attention was on her and make a run for it. She let out an ear-splitting shriek and began yelling at him again. Her hands yet again striking H'chakde repeatedly.

One word had been repeated to him fairly frequently during her tantrum. But it made no sense to him. Not even his translator, though near broken, could give him and clearer idea of what the word meant.

He let her continue to hit him for a long while. Part of him hoping that she would tire soon, or realize that she was getting nowhere with her actions. But she didn't, and it wasn't long after that he finally snapped and began yelling back at her. "Enough!" He growled loudly at her, she seemed to stop for only a moment before continuing. This time hitting him much harder than she had before.

H'chakde pressed the button to close his door. Quickly making sure it had shut all the way before he tossed her on her mat. Her yelling never ceasing the entire time.

With his patience finally gone, H'chakde let out a loud roar, and finally, her movements ceased. She looked up at him, her eyes meeting his, anger simmering behind them. She was still angry, but at least she was now silent.

"You must stay here!" He nearly shouted at her. Placing his fists on his hips he puffed out his chest, trying to appear more intimidating to her. The human tilted her head a little, confusion working its way into her gaze amongst her anger. She didn't understand.

H'chakde pointed to her mat and let out another loud but demanding growl. She glanced around in response before looking back up at him, repeating the demand with a questioning tone. One that betrayed her unafraid demeanor.

H'chakde let out a low click and nodded his head. Finally, the human seemed to understand this, as she reluctantly scooted to the far corner of her mat. She brought up her legs to her torso, her fiery gaze never leaving the hunter all the while. Watching his every move.

He gave another annoyed growl in response and turned his attention back to his earlier task. Hiding it now would not be an option (not with the human watching him like she was). So instead he opted to place it on the top of a tall shelf amongst his other trophies. This way the human knew where they were, but likely wouldn't be able to reach them. Giving her a taste of her own medicine.

He turned back to her, a smug look plastered on his face. Although she couldn't see it through his mask. He began to pry off his armor, preparing to lay down and rest.

When his mask had been removed he glanced at the human, hoping his face would elicit some kind of reaction. When he saw a hint of fear hiding behind her angry facade, he let out a quiet trill. She should be wary of him.

He held the human's gaze as he walked over and sat upon his bed. He was beginning to grow tired of her watching his every move. It was rude, and he would not have his servant disrespect him. Maybe if he stared long enough she would grow tired of her games. Or her fear would finally sink in and she would look away.

He soon found, however, that even after a few minutes of the two looking at each other she did not falter. Her gaze remained fiery, defying the fear that still hid in them. She wouldn't give in as easily as he had hoped. Part of him didn't mind however, this would just make the outcome of his task much more satisfying.

Finding himself growing tired of the game, H'chakde adjusted himself on the bed so he was laying down. He glanced at the human one last time before he closed his eyes. Allowing himself to fall asleep, but he remained ready to attack if she did
