Aizawa's POV

"Kaminari, wake up. Detention's over." I held back a smile as the blonde-haired boy sat up, shaking off the sticky notes that the other detentionees had stuck all over him. Still groggy, he wiped his eyes, still probably oblivious to the sharpie graffitti that covered his face.

As soon as he packed up and left, I began rolling up my comfy, yellow sleeping bag. Ah, I can finally go home and see my cats, maybe take a nap... A vibration in my pocket made me snap back to reality. I sighed, taking my phone out and checking it. Huh, a text from Yamada.

I tapped the message, which took me to our chat room. His message read, "yo eraser you awake??? is detention over yet?? i need your help"

I sighed softly. Godammit, I want to go home. Maybe Yamada could manage without me?  Nevertheless, I held in my reluctance and texted back, "Yeah, I'm awake, and yeah, detention's over. What do you want"

He replied, "can you meet me in the lounge in a few minutes?? I have an essay I need you to help me decode. one of my students has awful handwriting and I need to have this graded by tomorrow, so can you dig it??"

He's still at school? Was it really that hard to read? Did it really take him this long to ask for help?  Whatever the case, he's here and he needs my help. I guess it would have to be a little while longer before I could go home and see my cats. I sent him a simple "fine, I'll be there in a few", and stuffed my yellow sleeping bag into one of my desk's big drawers.

As I walked out of the doorway to my classroom, a strong smell of gasoline hit me. "Phew, what the hell?" I buried my face in my scarf and scanned my surroundings, not seeing any gasoline nearby.

Maybe it's just from one of that Hatsume girl's inventions. Maybe it had a leak in its fuel tank, or something?  I pondered the suspicious smell as I headed towards the teachers' lounge.

I suddenly felt my phone buzz in my pocket, so I took it out and checked it. Yamada had sent back one long, continuous "YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" that took up the entire page, and at the end of it, he put a small "thanks eraser". I'd have to scroll up to see the last message I sent. I didn't send anything back, instead I just clicked my phone's power button and stuck it back in my pocket.

That dumbass. He's in a league of his own, that's for sure. I've never met anyone as dramatic or loud as him... I don't think even Aoyama could stand up to his flair. And that kid's a goddamn living sequin.

As I rounded the corner, I noticed a drop of black substance that fell from the ceiling about... maybe three meters in front of me. Once again, a very strong smell of gasoline flooded my senses, this time slightly penetrating the material of my scarf. I looked up to the ceiling slowly, my eyes a bit teary from the smell.

A large, muscular, pitch-black blob of goo clung to the ceiling. As if that wasn't weird enough already, the blob looked me in the eyes, before it splatted onto the ground with a loud, sickening slap.

What the hell? How did that thing even get in here?  Instead of wasting time pondering on how it got past the UA security, I focused and tried to erase its quirk. I kept my otherwise floating scarf pressed against my nose and mouth, still using it as a sort of gas mask.

Dammit. It must've been a mutant type, because my Erasure appeared to have no effect. The villain stood up, its huge stature becoming evident as it began slowly trudging towards me. It left puddles of ooze on the floor where it stepped, its huge muscles rippling under the goo that covered them.

"Ehhhhhrrrraaasseeerrr... Ssssooo niccce to finally meet you. I'm sssssuch a huge fan of yoursssss, you know. I even went on a ssssspecial diet sssso my fumessss would be exssstra ssssssstrong. Oh, don't you think it ssssssmells ssssimply beautiful?" The villain's voice deeply warbled, sounding almost alienlike.

I stayed silent, keeping my scarf pressed against my nose. The smell became worse as the villain moved closer, and I could now see the fumes wafting off of the villain's goo.

"Hmmmm, how very rude! I asked you a quessstion, and you jusssst ignored it... I never imagined you'd be such a rude-asssss in person, Erasssser... What a letdown. I finally get to meet my idol, and he turnssss out to be a jerk." The villain chided, as a crooked, ugly smile formed on its face.

I made a snap decision to stretch my scarf as far as possible towards the villain, hoping to at least be able to wrap it around his arm and yank his sorry ass onto the floor. The villain must've seen it winding towards him, because he reached out a huge, gooey arm. "Oh, you want me to take thissss away? 'Causssse I'd love to keep it as a ssssouvenir..." Shit, I don't want him to grab it. I wanted to grab him, not the other way around. I recoiled it, causing the villain to grope at it as it returned to its spot atop my shoulders. He stomped closer and closer, now moving slightly faster towards me.

"Ohhh, come on now... You won't give me, your biggessssst fan, your ssssscarf to remember you by?" The villain sounded hurt, but I didn't give a shit.

My mind was racing. All I wanted in that moment was to be able to fight back, but I was useless against this guy. My quirk didn't affect his, I couldn't use my capture weapon or I'd get it taken away and suffocate, plus, I sure as hell didn't stand a chance against him in hand-to-hand combat. I was screwed.

I was weighing my odds of survival if I fled, versus if I tried to fight, when I saw something moving behind the villain's massive form.

Wait, I recognized that shape.

Oh. My. God. No, no no no no.

I spotted Yamada behind the villain, at the other end of the hall. The dumbass was waving at me. Once he saw that I saw him, he made a "shh" gesture with his finger, then he began to slowly sneak up on the villain.

Come on, you damned loudmouth. Don't get involved. Go get help or something, just do anything but come try to save me by yourself.

I wanted to scream at him to stop, to warn him not to come down here, but I dared not let the villain know he was there, let alone speak. I knew that the fumes would only be worse if I opened my mouth, since I could practically already see the wavy lines enveloping me.

I was lost in thought, since at the moment I could no longer make snap decisions. I was feeling kinda woozy at that point, like if I fell over on the floor and took a nap, it would be just what the doctor ordered.

Before I knew it, the villain had gotten close enough to touch me, and that's exactly what he did. With a fangirl-ish scream, he pulled me into a big hug, causing me to get covered in his goo. Some of the goo must've gotten onto my skin, because I immediately felt a burning sensation on the exposed parts of my face and hands.

The last thing I remember before I blacked out was my hair being grabbed, resulting in my face being yanked out of my scarf, and then an overwhelming stench of gasoline.
