Chapter 5

Kongpob clutched his friend in a bear hug, grinning. He had not seen Em in what seemed like forever. Ever since Em gave birth to a chubby baby boy, it was only natural that Em and his partner P'Pete barely had time to socialize. Em and Pete had mated soon after both of their parents had approved of the relationship. It had been close to a year of them dating. A couple of months later, Em found himself to be pregnant, despite precautions. The couple and their families were happy with the news, though, and here they were. Now Pete worked with his dad and Em was happy being the one taking care of their 7-month old and the house over all.

"It's been a while, my friend. You are looking good, though!" Kongpob said. Em had gained some weight post pregnancy and his chest seemed slightly paunchy, but not overly so. He looked radiant and Kongpob couldn't help but think that being a dad suited his blushing friend. As they all grabbed a table and ordered their food, Tew asked, "I am glad you guys could take a couple of hours for yourselves. So, where's Earth now?"

"Oh, Em's mom and sister had not seen him in a while so they agreed to babysit until we got back. They seemed excited." Em nodded at his husband, smiling. His Mae had been ecstatic to have Earth for a few hours.

"So, how's everything with you guys? Tew, has P'Knott finalized that contract with that Chinese company? He seemed to be away a lot lately..." Em asked.

Tew nodded as he sipped his water, "Yes, he's working really hard on that. Hopefully, everything will turn out good."

"Yes, I am sure it will. P'Knott has been diligent in working towards expanding his company. It's really admirable how much he has achieved in just past 2-3 years." Pete pitched in as everyone nodded.

It was surprising how quickly Knott had taken-over his uncle's company and steered it towards international success. None of his friends even knew that their friend had such a great sense in business. Bright now turned towards Knott for any advice he needed while running his bar.

"What about you N'Kong? What do you plan after you graduate?" Pete asked, as their food as placed and they started to dig in. But suddenly the light mood had vanished as both Kongpob and Tew glanced at each other and grew silent. Em picked up on the tension immediately.

"What? What is going on? Kongpob, you better tell me right now! Tew, is this the real reason we are here today?"

As Kong shook his head, trying to tell Em and everything was okay, Tew sighed and said, "You are right, Em. We are here because our Kong refuses to stop being an idiot and grow the fuck up, already!"

"Oh my god! Don't tell me we are still discussing the same thing with this guy Tew? Kong, it has been four fucking years! How could you?"

Tew nodded as he put his chopsticks down, "Exactly! Tell him Em. Put some sense into this guy. P'Arthit is devastated. You don't know how broken he looked last night when he sought us out. He thinks Kong here is no longer interested in him or loves him. Can you believe it? Our Kong not in love with his Sun?"

Em shook his head disappointedly, even as Pete looked confused. "Umm..I don't understand..?"

Em snorted, "Our Kong here has this mighty idea that the fated souls must not mate until they are settled enough to start a family.."

"Em, that's not how.." Kong started but was cut off surprisingly by Pete.

"What do you mean? Haven't you been with your fated for like forever, right?"
