Reaching Serenity

Chapter 6

AN: OMG! I had not expected such an overwhelming response for my story. Thank you all for supporting my venture into Asian BL fanfic. But I'm surprised that no one commented on the whole Em-Pete and baby Earth thing. Anyway, maybe it was just me.. Thank you all.

Knott sat down in front of a broken Arthit after ordering their food. He placed pink milk in front of his friend and sipped his ice-tea slowly. Arthit was silent but he did take a few sips of his favorite drink before looking up at his friend.

"So how was work, today? Everything okay?"

Arthit nodded, "Hmm. We are preparing for the annual contest. After last year's fiasco, I think we will win this time, fair and square."

"Good good. It's good that you are concentrating and working hard. Do you still plan to move to production? I mean, you did choose to remain in procurement when you were given a place in production last year."

Arthit nodded, "Production fascinates me a lot, but now procurement is interesting as well. Maybe I will change when I am an expert in procurement. My knowledge will only help production, right?"

"Yes, true." Knott agreed and they both fell silent. There was an elephant in the room and they both knew it. However, Knott felt like his friend might want a break from all his problems. But he also felt helpless in cheering him up.

"Arthit.."

"Knott.." They both said at the same time and smiled at each other.

"You go first, Arthit.." Knott said.

"Doesn't he feel..I mean, he used to be so jealous when he was still pursuing me and when I started working as well. Is he that secure in our relationship now that he doesn't feel ..when I am going around everywhere, meeting people and all. An unclaimed Omega..I am game for anyone who feels even a ounce of interest..doesn't he feel rage like I feel whenever I see someone confessing to him?..huh? Doesn't he.."

"Arthit. He feels everything that you just described. He is a ferocious and possessive Alpha but he trusts you and that's what keeps him sane. That and the necessity to not hurt you in anyway.."

Arthit rubbed his face, "I don't understand.."

"Look Arthit, as an Alpha, it is my duty to take care of my Omega, meaning Tew, okay? I must give him what he wants and needs whenever he wishes. It is my first instinct to keep my Omega happy and content, even if it means I have to delay having children. Tew wants to be able to have work experience before having kids, so I have obliged. Tew knows I will take care of him all my life and he will not want for anything. But if he wants to work and put his education to use, he is free to do that. Also, if he decides to stay at home, he is free to do that as well. This knowledge that I can give my Omega this..this freedom, it gives me such a sense of contentment and power that I cannot even begin to describe. All Kong wants is to give you that..It's not that difficult to understand, if you just make an effort."

Arthit sighed, "Haven't I been understanding enough for past four years, Knott?"

Knott snorted. "I agree four years is a long time and you guys are not delaying having a family..I can see why it will be frustrating. All I can suggest is talk to each other.Trust each other and talk. Put everything on the table, don't hide anything from each other. See what each of you has to give and take. Reach a compromise, a midway that is satisfying to both. Don't be hasty. You don't want to do something or want Kong to agree to something that either of you would regret. Think it over with a clear head Arthit. Okay?" Arthit nodded and Knott felt this was all he could do for his friend. Rest was up to the two of them.

When Knott and Arthit got home, Tew had already showered and was just drying his hair. When Knott entered their bedroom, Tew was just in his towel and the Alpha thought the sight was good enough to eat. The messy, damp hair, the wet glistening chest looked scrumptious and Knott could not help feel aroused. Tew realized he was being watched and felt heat rising up his chest to his face. He smiled shyly at his Pii. And then suddenly Knott was there, holding him by the waist and kissing him fiercely.

When they broke apart because they needed to breath, Tew asked, "Did you manage to take the day the off tomorrow?" Knott smiled and nodded, "You?"

"I was just going to inform Kong and call in sick."

Knott nodded. "You do that. Then we can sleep and have sweet dreams of tomorrow.."

Tew made a face, "Eww..why are you being so cheesy..?" Knott laughed as tew slipped out of his arms and grabbed his phone, making a call to Kong. For some reason he thought it would be good idea to put the call on speaker.

"Hey Kong.."

"Hello, is everything okay, Tew? Is this about my Pii..?"

Tew rolled his eyes, meeting Knott's gaze who snorted.

"Your Pii is fine, Kong. It's me. I am not feeling too good, maybe I have caught a bug or something."

"Oh Tew. Are you okay? Stay away from my Pii, don't let him catch it..!" Tew's eyes widened at Kong's dramatic way, "That's your first priority?"

"Of course. My Pii comes before anyone or anything else." Tew sighed. There was no arguing with this guy.

"Look, all I called was to ask you to cover for me tomorrow," Tew fake coughed and sniffled a bit, "I don't think I will be able to make it."

"Oh, but Tew, we have to present that project tomorrow. Didn't you say you were excited about it? Besides, it's 20% credit. You can't miss this.."

Tew sighed, looked at Knott with pleading eyes. "That was tomorrow?"

"Yes. Tew, you are really not doing good, are you? It's not like you forget dates like this.." Tew saw Knott rubbing his face and moving away. The older man had slumped down on the bed, tired. He already knew, plans for mini-break tomorrow were going to be completely dashed.

Tew groaned and wasabout to say something but was cut off by Kongpob, "Look, take some medicineand sleep tight. You don't even have to attend morning classes or anything.Just rest and make it in time for the presentation in second half. You will dogreat, I am sure." Tew thanked Kong and couple of minutes later snuggled up tohis Pii. Looked like they would have to take a rain-check on the spa thing.
