"Cass...Cass"

My body shakes as my eyes open groggily,

"Cass wake up, its time"

My ears hurt..like they need to pop
But they'd only need to pop if....

My body shoots up and i look around me.
HOW COULD I FALL ASLEEP

"Cass, hey. You're okay, calm down okay?" resting his hands on my shoulders and facing me towards him "it's okay, you're fine"

"But-wh-what happened?"

He runs his hands soothingly up my shoulders and says "Nothing happened, other than the pilot telling us the story of when he sailed the seven seas nothings happened other than you falling asleep, and now..we have to jump"

"Wh-now? But i can't! What if i do something wrong and i die?"

"Hey, hey. We went over this remember? You're dropping with me, you think I'd let you die?  You think I'd put your life in danger?"

I shake my head

"Exactly," he winks "and besides" he says as he's pulling up a bag "I've played wayyyy to much fortnite to not how how to jump out of a plane."

I laugh and he smiles at me. His excited dorky smile, the corners of his mouth rising along with his dimples sinking deeper and his tongue ever so slightly peeking out between his teeth. Of course he doesn't do it on purpose, only when he's extremely happy

"So let's get your parachute on, hm?" He holds it up to me and i nod, but confusing struck me slightly

"Hey, shouldn't Sargent Wesley be doing this or something? Y'know just for safety purposes?" I ask, twiddling my fingers

"Well yeah, i guess" he pulls the chute over his head "but then who would be flying the helicopter, right?"

"Yeah you're right"

Once my parachute and harness is on and adjusted, Sargent Wesley comes out from the front and slams the door, and yells a "Chihoo" in an accent that i still haven't been able to figure out.

"Well then! It seams y'all 'r all ready to get on and dive then!"

"Scuse me..but w-who's flying the helicopter?"

"Oh this old thing?" He taps the side of the window twice "this baby's flying herself"

I look at Ace and back at the Sargent with the most perplexing face i have ever pulled

"THE HELICOPTERS ON AUTO PILOT??"

"Yes-sir-i and it's time to dive!"

I look at Ace once again, my featured fixed to confusion

"It's okay, we'll be fine. Promise" he holds my head and kisses my forehead, then sticking out his pinky

When he notices that i don't pick up mine and that my hands remained at my side, he picked up my right hand and brought it to his left, taking my pinky and wrapping it around his

He looks into my eyes "I Promise." He says to me

"Alright! Let's get a move on then!"

Once the Sargent locks us together and makes sure we're secure, i made sure to ask him ten times if we were secure. When that was out of the way, Ace and I stood by the helicopter door that we would be jumping out of

"Alright guys, there's only one time and one time only when you can jump! So when i count to three, let go, and both of you JUMP! Got it??"

"Got it" Ace said, with his front resting on my back he leaned forward and asked if i was ready
