Michelle's POV
It was the end of the day, but I was excited. School was fun and I made new friends. Now, cheerleader try-outs! I went to the locker room and changed into my cheer clothes. I look so cute! I walked out of the locker room and went to the meet up spot. I'm average height but a little lighter than most girls, so I'm usually a flier. This year is going to be great!
Van's POV
I saw Shelly walk out of the girls' locker room in a cheer uniform. I guess she's probably a flier. I hid behind a wall, hoping she wouldn't see me. I stay after school to help with band. I can only do that though because of my parents. They work pretty late so I have to stay home. I know, you're thinking 'What about the bus?'. Well, I'd have to walk 5 miles to get home with a hefty backpack. I'm not as strong as other guys so I'm pretty frail. There wasn't any band practice so I was alone. Except, I wasn't. My sisters, I have 5, were all here too. Well, not all of them. Only Sydney and Andrea. Yet neither had cars since Andrea is youngest and Sydney is in 9th grade. We're not able to afford more than 2 cars so we have to make due. I decided I would find my buddy Nick. He was my best friend. If I ever have kids, he'd be their uncle because he's like the brother I never had. I went and sat in the bleachers and Nick sat with me. We pulled out our books and homework. I started my math. I've never been good at math. I get B's and C's in my classes even though I try so hard. Anyways, the two of us quizzed each other and did our homework. Nick always had an eye on girls. So when the cheerleaders came out to the football field, he stared at them, getting distracted. I looked, seeing Michelle. I sighed and looked away as Nick spoke.
He whistled, "Look at them! They should make those skirts a bit longer!"
"Dude, shut up. You're so fuckin' pervy." I laughed. I never spoke like this near my mom. Whenever I slipped a curse word out of my mouth and my dad wasn't home, she would beat me. But, me and my dad, since we're the only men, had a similar humor. He didn't care as much as my mom.
"No you. Dude, isn't that the new girl you were talking to this morning?" I looked as he pointed at Michelle, "Damn, I can see why you were with her! She's a babe!"
"DUDE!" I shouted. He laughed. I felt heat rise into my face as all the cheerleaders looked at me and Nick in the stands. Nick winked and some giggled. Nick was attractive. He had dark eyes and spiky black hair. He was fit and toned, but he wasn't a jock. He was in band and he was actually funny. When I was with him, I wasn't bullied, but when he wasn't, whole other story. I saw Michelle look at me and then at Nick. She giggled and whispered with her new-found friends.
This is going to be an interesting year.
