Jason Williams was taking the test. He passed all the three tests in the martial art clubs. He averaged his performance. He adjusted his power to normal level during the exam.

Someone, who was one of the most powerful martial artists in school was secretly observing Jason Williams and was having the feeling that Jason was secretly hiding his entire inner ki energy and was only playing as an ordinary guy.

The exam to test the students in the club finished and the instructor named, Albert Alexander, announced, " We're going to have a martial art competitions with other schools next week, which is one of the country's annual traditions. We're going to pick someone out of you all to find out who the best are and let you guys represent the name of our school. Last year, we were placed in the top 20. Hopefully, we'll climb in the rankings this time. Good luck and don't forget to practice your inner ki which is one of the most important things to master while doing martial arts! "

Jason felt thirsty and so he went to the canteen to buy something to drink. It was still half an hour left before the 2nd subject so he was wondering around the school. He saw a lot of people playing chess. He thought to himself that maybe it was just like the martial art clubs that there were tryouts for new members.

As he was looking around, someone called him. " Hey, there. Yes, you. Do you know how to play chess? I just happen to not have anyone playing with me. "

" Okay, sure. " Jason replied.

The person who invited Jason for a play was a well-versed player who looked like he was 14. For a chess master to be only at the age of 14, you'd be like one in a thousand. He was one of the best players at the school.

The game went on.

" Who's this guy? This kind of opening move is something that I haven't played with. " The 14-year old high schooler thought in surprise.

They were already at the middle game phase. Jason's opponent was feeling very pressured. He was losing by a piece.

At the end, Jason won.

" Could you play one more match with me? I'll play as white. "

" If you say so. " Jason responded.

" This time I'm going to have to play more safely. I'll play e4 and if he responds with e5 and knight to c3, I'm going to use the Ruy Lopez opening, which is one of the openings I've been playing for years. "

Jason's opponent was still feeling pressured. It was already at the endgame but he lost by a piece. He didn't exactly blunder but Jason thought a lot of moves ahead which was how that piece got taken out.

There was nothing more that the opponent could do but resign the game. He could also read a few moves ahead and the outcome was already very clear.

" I'm one of the school's representatives for the chess school's division competition. I'm the 5th strongest in our school. My Fide strength is at 1850. I'm a class A chess player. The strongest in our school has 2144 Fide rating. We're looking for good players for our Team. Wouldn't you be interested? " His opponent said after the game.

" I'll think about it. " Jason said in response.
