Harry didn't know what to do. And so he slept. For hours and hours he slept. A few times he woke up, but the room was cold and the bed even colder and so he would cry a bit until it got hot and stuffy and then he would sleep again. It was uncomfortable, and hardly ideal. But it worked.

"Harry?" Niall whispered, pushing the front door open with the spare key Louis had leant him. Upon receiving no response he ventured further into the dingy flat. The air seemed lifeless now, as if something was missing that needed to be replaced ASAP.

"Niall?" Harry croaked out, rolling over as he blinked slowly. Niall appeared in the doorway, a sopping wet jacket being shrugged off and flung somewhere as he toed off his shoes and sat them down in the doorway. Harry pushed himself up until he was sitting, watching silently as Niall walked over and sat at the end of their- Harry's bed.

"You doing okay? First thing Louis did this morning was come over to mine!" Niall laughed, handing Harry an envelop. Harry shook his head, curls brushing against his cheeks as he took the letter graciously. Setting it down on the bedside table he lay back down in bed, pulling the cotton covers back up to his neck as Niall rubbed his arm and back.

"I don't really want to talk about it right now. Maybe a bit later or maybe never." Harry murmured, staring hard at the envelop as it sat unopened beside him. Niall nodded his head in understanding. He threaded a hand through Harry's knotting curls, toying with the smaller ones at the nape of his neck as Harry relaxed back into a light sleep.

"Will go make myself a drink then, I guess..." Niall laughed, tousling the young boys hair once more before pushing himself off the bed and shuffling into the kitchen. Harry heard the bang of cupboards and frustrated muttering as Niall searched around for a vaguely clean cup in the dingy kitchen. It kept him awake but he was too afraid to open his eyes.

"Got no fuckin' clean cups in this house!" Niall exclaims as he rubs at the lip of a mug, sauntering back into Harry's room. There would be no need for half the things Harry now had in his house. He only needed half the cups, half the saucers, half the plates, half the space. It used to be a home, now it was a damp old lifeless flat.

"Louis never did the washing up. It was his week." Harry exclaims, tugging at his lip as he opens his watery eyes. Niall peeks down at his, sitting down beside Harry's bed, criss cross applesauce style.

"Lazy old bugger he was." Niall agrees, resting his chin just inches from Harry's face and blowing a curl off his cheek. Harry smiles weakly, reaching past Niall's head for the envelope.

"How's that bird going? The one you pulled the other day?" Harry asks as he sits back up, letting the letter rest in his lap.

"Ah she left. Thought I had finally found the one but just yesterday I woke up and she was gone. Took my bloody t-shirt aswell, the girl!" He exclaimed as Harry ripped the envelop open, running his thumb over the little clear bit of plastic on the envelope.

"Shame. She was pretty. Looked like she had a good mouth on her too..." Harry winked as Niall punched him in the stomach, laughing. "That was mean. I'm sorry." He apologised, pulling the paper out and examining it as it lay peacefully in his hands.

"Want me to read it?" Niall asked as Harry gulped hard. He nodded slowly, handing the letter to Niall and Harry almost wanted to stop him but he didn't think he could handle reading it himself.

"Just don't go too quick, pause for dramatic effect in places." Harry lightened the mood as Niall stared at him weirdly, setting his drink down.

"Um okay... Well it starts simple. Dear Harry. I am so sorry for leaving. I don't want to upset you, just have sex with you." Harry lifts his head, glaring as Niall laughs to himself. "I'm sorry, he didn't actually but he did say he didn't mean to make you upset. You have been so incredibly kind to me for the entirety of our relationship. I hope you find someone great but I'm sure we will meet again some day. I will most likely be sloshed and half naked in a bar. See you Harry, take care. Louis." Niall finishes, setting the letter down on the ground. "Finished with two x's and a heart."

"Is that it?" Harry asks, bewildered. Niall nodded, picking the piece of paper back up and flipping it over to make sure. Harry flung his head back against the wall, blinking rapidly to keep the tears at bay.

"Sorry." Niall mumbled, joints cracking as he stood up, letter in tow. Harry uttered a groan as a tear escaped, sliding down his cheek as he slid down the bed.

"Not your fault. Just no explanation or anything." Harry uttered, turning around and screaming into his pillow as he grabbed the letter furiously from Niall. Niall stepped back stunned as Harry read the letter over and over.

"Look I'm gonna go just for an hour or two, I don't know. Need anything?" Niall offered as Harry sat, tears leading in soft splashes on the paper.

"I'm fine. See you later." Harry answered, waving his hand to dismiss Niall.

"Alright. See you bud!" Niall sighed, ruffling Harry's hair and pulling his shoes on before he left Harry with a slam of the front door. Harry was left, helpless. He was furious, that much he knew. But at the same time he couldn't be angry. Not with Louis or Niall or Luke or Louis' mum or anyone. There was no point being angry anyway, it wouldn't bring Louis back.
