Thomas awoke to a loud ringing flowing through his room. He groggily sat up in his bed and blindly felt around on his bedside table for his phone that was driving him up the wall. He finally found the object and checked the caller, his phone lit up with the words: John Laurens.
'What the hell is John doing calling at this time?' Thomas thought as he hit the green button.
"Hello?" He said in a deep gravely voice, making it obvious that he had just woke up.
"Thomas? Oh thank god your awake!"
"Well, I am now..." Thomas said with annoyance. "What do you need this time in the damned morning?"
"Its James! He's in the hospital!"

Black. The whole world spilled with that dreaded color. James sat up from his laying position, not being able to see anything but darkness. Then, a sudden light filled one area, making James cover his eyes with one arm. As it dimmed down, James saw what illuminated the room. Thomas. James quickly stood up and ran towards Thomas, engulfing him in a big hug. But when James looked up to see Thomas' face, the taller man suddenly burst into dust.
"T-Thomas...?" James spoke softly, tears filling his eyes to the brim.
What did I say James? He left, just like every other person has and will.
You will always be alone in life James, no matter what...
the dark room filled up, showing his asylum room, but something was wrong. James turned towards his bed, only making him clasp his hands over his mouth.
There he was, passed out on the floor with his wrists spilling out with blood. James heard a loud voice and everything slowly began to change.
He opened his eyes, only to find he was in a hospital bed. An oxygen mask was on his face along with an IV on his inner wrist. James twisted his arm to see all around it. New scars lined his wrists, making him clench his fist at his stupidity.
"Well how the fuck did he cut himself if there 'wasn't any sharp objects'!" a voice coated in a southern accent spoke from across the room. James looked in the direction only to find a very pissed off Thomas yelling at John, who seemingly shrank down at every word Thomas threw at him.
"T-Thomas...?" James wheezed out, coughing directly after. That one raspy word that James spoke made both men snap their heads towards James. Thomas rushed up to the side of his bed while John just stood there in disbelief.
"James sweetheart! You're alright, thank goodness!" Thomas said in relief, taking James face in one of his hands. The oxygen mask kind of got in the way, but Thomas didn't seem to care at all. But Thomas' happy, relieved face turned dim in an instant.
"James, I...I could have lost you! Why did you..." He trailed off, a few tears fell down his cheeks as he slowly let go of James face, wiping them away. James used the bit of strength he had left to reach his hand up to Thomas' cheek, wiping away his tears for him.
"I-I got attached to someone I shouldn't have, a-and was afraid I-I had lost t-them. I d-didn't know w-what else to do..." James said in a raspy tone, running his finger along the bruise on Thomas' left cheek, making his tear up as well.
"James, I will never leave you, I never break a promise," Thomas said sincerely, but his face slowly turned to panic. "T-That is if you were talking about losing me! If you l-lost someone else then-" But James cut him off with raspy laughter, giving Thomas a warm smile.
"O-Of course I'm talking a-about you Thomas." He said, the smile staying on his face, making Thomas let out a soft chuckle and smile as well.
"That's a relief."
Someone from the end of the room cleared their throat, making the two men snap their heads in that direction. While Thomas and James were talking, Alexander had walked into the room. He now had one hand around John's waist as he tapped his foot on the white-tiled flooring.
"Sorry to ruin your 'oh so happy reunion', but I have to ask, how did James cut himself?"
This comment made James eyes avert to the blanket that covered his lower half, embarrassment written across his face.
"I... Used my nails. We don't really get to cut them and I hate chewing them off." James said, eyes landing on Alex and John.
"I see... Well I'll have to talk to Washington about this matter. We will leave you two alone for a moment now. Let's go John." Alex said, motioning for John to follow him.
Once John closed the door, James sat in an upright position holding out his arms for a hug. Thomas smiled and wrapped his arms around James, who dug his head into Thomas shoulder.
"When do you get out of here darling?" Thomas asked pulling away to see James face.
"I think its tomorrow? I didn't hear you knuckle head, I was passed out." He said sticking his tongue out at Thomas, who chuckled at James' childish attitude.
"I'll go ask the front desk. It's about time I head out as well, I just wanted to know you were ok. I'll come visit here tomorrow if you have to stay longer." Thomas said, starting to make his way towards the door, but James stopped him.
"One more hug...?" He said with an innocent face, making Thomas melt a bit.
"One more hug." Thomas answered, wrapping his arms around James once more.
"I...I love you..." James whispered into Thomas' shoulder, catching the taller man by surprise. Thomas smiled and hugged James tighter.
"I love you too, James."
