Chapter 3: Alone at last

I got worried later that day. Justin wasn't answering any of my calls. Had Dez told him the same lies she told Nikki and Nathalie? Suddenly a voice popped into my head

My mom wrote down three phone numbers on a small sticky note, her number, my dad's and Jamie's. Jamie is my twin sister. We're not identical, she's taller and has wavy black hair. She looks more like my dad. I, on the other hand, have dark brown almost black hair like my mom's. Jamie is a great student and is planning on applying for oxford next year. Were both seniors this year and I do better with my grades but I could never beat strait A Jamie.

I took out my phone and dug through my pocket till I found the little scrunched up paper. I typed in a phone number and waited for Jamie to answer. She finally picked up after the sixth ring.

"Jamie, I need your help"

Jamie got to Campbell's shortly after I did. I told her about everything that happened on the phone and she insisted that we meet here. We sat down in a booth as we ordered some coffee. I was surprised to see how pale her drink was, it didn't look anything like coffee. Jamie could read my expression.

"I'm not the bitter type," She said as she looked at my dark latte, "I prefer sweet drinks"

After that, I wasn't surprised at what I saw next. Jamie got at least three sugar packets and dumped them in her drink. We both giggled.

"Ok let's get back to what we came here for. Revenge, now how do you plan on doing that." I could tell she knew I didn't think this through.

"I was thinking, since you're the brains of the family, maybe you could think of something?" Her face was full of fake disappointment. After a few seconds, we both broke out laughing.

God, I missed my sister.

We finally decided that a simple make-her-jealous move would work. When we left we went to the mall. I knew that Dez would be on her usual Saturday shopping spree with Nikki and Nathalie. I called Justin and finally, he picked up. I told him my plan and he was more than happy to help. He agreed to come to the mall tomorrow.

When Justin came he was wearing a sexy but casual outfit. Jamie was in my dorm waiting for updates. Justin just looked at me and smiled. We linked arms and headed off to where I knew Dez would be. As I thought Dez was there and she paid no attention to me standing outside of the store. Dez had been jealous of me for having a boyfriend that was hotter than anyone she ever dated so Justin and I decided to act like the perfect couple.

We walked into the store still linking arms and laughing over every little thing. Dez finally looked over when Nikki noticed me trying on dresses that matched what Justin tried on. We bought matching outfits and headed to the food court. Dez followed.

In the food court, we bought ice cream and played around. I have to admit, even though he was probably faking it, I still felt so happy. Like he was my one and only.

When I finally snapped back to reality, I realized I had been staring at his mouth the whole time. He looked at me and leaned in. All of a sudden warm soft lips struck mine. This wasn't part of the plan. Still, I kissed him back as the world around me faded. I figured out what I needed to know, he was not faking it. When we finally parted I could tell what he was thinking.

I wanted to but his facial expression changed. As he realized that Dez was watching. Her face was red and full of embarrassment. We both laughed as she stomped out of the mall.
