"You don't realise how real it is until you see your room like this", Liam says leaning on the door frame. The messing room now bare.
I nod "Still surreal tho"
"Still haven't talked to dad?" He asks me
"Nope" I reply proudly
"Ruby, I'm all for standing up for yourself but...this seems a little extreme", Liam adds
"Liam... I'm just upset, I love the farm and to think about not waking up to this every morning makes me sad and he didn't even give me a warning about it seeing I was suppose to compete this year"
"Anyway final boxes are going in the van now" he says tapping of the dobefore walking away.

I double check the floors for any importance.
Something catches my eye, as I walk over I realize what it is. My mother's half of the wedding photo. I always had a photo of my parents on their wedding day, the pure joy on the faces I never thought people could be happier. The day she left us I had ripped the photo in 2. I had framed my father and thrown the other in the bin, obviously it missed the bin. I chuck it in the last brown box and make my way out to the van.

Dad accepts the box without acknowledgement, he knows I won't budge anytime soon.
He packs the last few boxes in needing to re adjust it several times after the trunk wouldn't close.
"Ok kids" Dad starts getting in the car and securing his seatbelt "here are your boarding passes, when we get to the airport I'll be parked in the 5 minute drop off so please move with speed" he says handing us our plane tickets.
"Ok", the boys chorus.
I place my headphones in and prepare for the long ride to the airport.

                                                                                                    ****
Dad parks the car and gets out followed by my brothers and I. Ben and Dad start handing out suitcases. Dad hands me my suitcase not expecting a goodbye.

Once dad finishes handing out the suitcases I walk up to him "Dad"I say "let's just get this clear, I'm still mad but I love you" I finish enclosing him in a hug.A shocked expression coming over his face but never the less be hugs me back. The boys repeat my actions to dad and soon he's driving away from the airport.

"Now didn't that feel good?", Ben says patting my back. I give a small smile in response.

We walk into the sliding doors followed by the cool breeze of the air con. "Everyone try not to get lost" the eldest states everyone turning to look at Finn the brother known for getting lost. "Hey I'm a different person then what I was six months ago", he says defensively, hands up in defence.

"Actually", I start "It was last week when we went into town" I look to see my brothers sniggering.

"All I know is I had to find the perfect snack" Finn answers.

"And that required you to get lost, like always", Noah adds. Finn opens his mouth to answer but is interrupted by the loud speaker.

"Check-in is now available for the following Flight, XW3021 to Los Angles, RE9814 to Miami and TY4587"

"Thats us" my twin states looking at the boarding pass. We all nod and make our way to the line.

Once we've finally been checked-in and through security we enjoy the stores.

"I'm going to be over here if anyone needs me", Ben says pointing to sport store. We all nod in unison soon its just me and my twin brother left standing in the centre of the long path.

"So" I say "Which shop should be head to?" I ask.

"No offensive rubes but if you think I'm going to shop with you in girly stores you've got anther thing coming"Liam says

"Actually I was going to suggest that we get milkshakes, but okay", I say.

"Oh then I will say yes to your proposition", he agrees and we head to the small cafe area.

10 minutes later we are seated in the corner both enjoying our milkshakes.

"Are you gonna try out for football?" I ask

"Yeah but I probably won't make the team. You know that's reserved for seniors, AKA Noah", he says sipping away at the cold beverage.

"Liam I don't know if you've noticed but nobody plays football like Noah, not everyone is school is going to be like that, but if your still worried you should try out for something else, I mean I'm thinking of signing up for soccer"

"Soccer?" Liam questions

I nod my head weirded out by my own thoughts.

"Ruby I hate to break it to ya, but you've never played a game of soccer in your life", he says smiling.

"Well I was thinking I could re-make one of those movies when someone moves states and becomes an absolute legend at sport", we both laugh.

"This milkshake reminds me of-"

"Mum", I cut him off

"Just the way she used to make them", we agree.

"Hey it's 11:45 we should probably start heading to the gate"I say changing the subject starting to see the emotion showing on Liam's face. We all still think of her but we keep it hidden. No-one ever discusses it together.

"Yeah we should" he says gathering up his back pack.

We walk to the end of the airport to gate 67.

"Wow Finn you managed to get here on time" I say tapping my watch

Finn looks at me surprised "Wow did the great Ruby Baxter just make her first joke in years" he says. I just roll my eyes.

After getting checked on the plane it was finally time take off. Looking out below the plane seeing my beautiful home I could tell which farm was ours even from the sky.

Bye Farm, Bye horse's..... Bye life...
