"SQ 867, to Seoul Incheon, the gate has been changed to B12"
"All passengers please be at boarding gate 15 minutes before the departure time"
Today was the day that my Best Friend, Jermaine and I embarked on our one month stay in Korea, the land of kimchi. It felt as though it was just yesterday that I was announced the winner for the lottery that I bought. 2.5 million, who could have thought.
We were at the airport, ready for our flight when we heard the announcement that our gate have been changed. Looking at the directory to the gates, we realised that B12 was at the opposite end of the gate that we were at right now.
Looking at the time on my iPhone 7, I realised that we only had 5 minutes to make it to the gate before it closes.
"F*cking hell" I muttered under my breath
With the sandwich In between her mouth, and coffee on her hand, Jermaine ran in an uncoordinated manner to catch up to me, while I ran as fast as my short legs could carry me. Running was never my specialty, I'm just glad that the extra trainings I did to lose weight before this trip helped.
"Thank you lord Jesus, we have 20 seconds to spare, I can't imagine missing this flight!"
"I—cawnut agwee no more" Jermaine said with her cheeks still stuffed with the sandwich.
After a smooth bag check, we finally made our way into the plane. Greeting us were cheerful cabin crews that offered to show us the fastest way to our designated seats.
"Please, not some smelly man beside, anyone but a smelly one" I prayed secretly. Peeking to my left, I could see Jermaine mirroring my actions as we both have had awful encounters with situations like these and it drove us insane.
As passengers continued to stream in endlessly, our seat partner was nowhere to be found. Could it be we are that lucky to have an empty seat next to us? But I clearly remembered that this flight was very much full. And at this very moment, I heard someone yelling. He sounded youthful.
"I'm here! I'm here! Choi—-is here"
"Hey Jer, I think we have ourself some company, say Good bye to the comfy space we once thought we were going to have"
As the figure walked towards the seat in our direction, I rolled my eyes with a look of disgust shown onto my face, expecting an old grumpy man to be our seat partner.
"Hello, if you may, you're sitting on my seat belt."
"Oh, sorry." I said with as much bitchiness as i could muster. And as I turned around to face him, I quickly regretted all the words I said before.
Seated next to me wasn't an old grumpy man, but a tall, built figure. His skin was flawless as though sparkles was emitting out from him. I swear the OST of "Boys over Flowers" blasted in my head as he smiled at me when he was trying to buckle up his seat belt. His cologne smelled so sweet, even ants would get attracted to it and faint from that sweet smell.
I was star shocked, and I could clearly see Jermaine making the exact expression on me.
"Is he an idol? Oh my god, He is so good looking!!!!! Jackpot eh Jer." I whispered as softly as I could while trying to keep my excitement in.
"Damn, I wish we could find an oppa like that to be our boyfriend in Korea hahahah"
"You wish!" I said with a cheeky smile
With that, our plane departed for Seoul, with a handsome oppa seated next to me, I wished that that plane ride was just a teensy bit longer.
