"Breathe that fresh korean air in Jer, breathe it alllllllllll in"
"ALREADY AHEAD OF YOU!!" Jermaine replied while somehow trying to breathe in from her nose and mouth.
We made our way to the immigration checkpoint, stopping at every poster we saw that featured our idols in it. Jermaine could not help but kiss every poster while screaming "OPPA" as i took pictures of her.
Finally, we reached the checkpoint and that was when my greatest nightmare occurred.
"Maam, your passport please."
"Sure, hold on!" And as i reached into my bag's side pocket which was designed to fit my passport snuggly, realisation dawned on me that nothing was in it, the pocket was as empty as a goldfish brain.
In my head, all i could think of was "I'm never going home, i'm going to live life here as a fugitive, a MAN WITHOUT PASSPORT!"
I panicked, the long line behind me wasn't helping, i could hear people secretly cursing me out and i was about to break down real good. Then, a bead of cold sweat trickled down the side of my forehead.
Just when i almost lost it, a kind voice whispered in my ear.
"Is this yours?"
I stole a glance behind me and saw the same guy that was seated next to me during the trip, he was my knight in shining armour. I couldn't stop staring at him, while he awkwardly tried to stuff the passport into my hands and push me ever so slightly towards the immigration counter.
The words "MAAM, I NEEED YOUR PASSPORT" woke me up from this pleasant encounter.
I haphazardly handed my passport to the lady who looked at me as though i murdered her entire family.
Sneaking a glance behind me to see him one last time, only to realise that he disappeared the same way as prince charmings appeared in the fairytale, magically; out of thin air.
"Welps, i guess we are not meant to be huh."
"At least i got to see his face up close, ONE POINT FOR JELENE" as i fist pumped in the air victoriously.
After the eventful encounter before, Jermaine and I finally met up at the baggage collection area.
With a slight twinkle of mischief in her eyes, Jermaine started to bombard me with her never ending questions about what happened before. She talked way too fast as if she was rapping whenever she was filled with excitement.
As usual, I couldn't catch her words. "Eh, can you slow down please! The only action that happened between us was him returning me my passport. Nothing. Else. Happened." I said with great conviction for every word.
Alas, I sighed in relief that my best friend had calmed down and I wasn't going to carry the title of a fugitive in Korea.
