I couldn't find father all of yesterday. I'm really worried about him. He hasn't left the realm in ages. I'm sure he will turn up today. I best talk to mother about him.
I make my way to mother's bedroom dragging my bottom lip on the floor. I can't imagine what it would be like if father passed.
Mother was twiddling her thumbs gazing out the window.
"Mother, have you seen father lately?"
"Honey, father left the kingdom yesterday. I'm not too sure where he was going but he said he needed fresh air. I hope that answered your question Mylah-Rose." Mother said with a calming voice.
"There is lava heading towards Charnia from south. I just wanted to warn father but I haven't been able to find him." It felt as if all my words just came out in one big mouth full.
"Oh my. Father used to know this guy. Sir Jack was his name. I'm sure he can help you save Charnia." Mother proclaims. "You can find him in Volchia. He is well known over there so he shouldn't be too hard to find."
Without replying I zip out of her room to my room. I leap under my sheets and sob.
Why do I have to go. Why can't Lewis go he is older anyways. Why does she trust me. What if I die. I'm too young for this. Maybe Lewis is right all along I do need someone to take care of me.
I jerk up.
Somehow I fell asleep yesterday afternoon. That is very unlike me.
Mother dashes into my room out of nowhere.
"Honey your awake. A young man named Tairone is here to see you. I told him you are going to Volchia today. He says he can help." Mother says whilst holding in all her breath and then letting it all sigh out.
"Tell him I'll be five minutes. I've still got to get dressed."
"Sure thing honey. Don't take more than five minutes." Mother zips out of my room and back down the stairs.
Yanking my damp sheets off of me I leap out of bed.
I pull my armour over my sticky hot body. I grabbed my already packed backpack ready for the adventure I was about to go on.
Running my fingers along the railing of the stairs I tried to picture Tai in a suit of armour but I just can't . I can't get over the fact Tai wore clothes like that when he looked so wealthy.
I reach the bottom of the stairs to see waiting for me is in fact Tai. But I didn't see any Tai in him apart from his eyes that still glistened even though the sun had yet not risen.
Tai is wearing a suit of armour that shines like his eyes. He's got a rather large backpack on that looks as if it's stuffed to the brim with travelling supplies.
My jaw drops.
He tilts his head to the side with confusion.
"I'm sorry is there something wrong Mylah-Rose?"
"N-no sorry, it's just your clothes." I stutter.
"Oh yes. It has been past down in generations and now it is in my hands. I thought I would put it to good use."
"It's still looks brand new though." I say with my jaw still wide open.
"It's because the earlier generations kept on cleaning it." He explains to me as if I just said something stupid. "Well what are you waiting for, come on we need to get going."
We both stride out the castle's gate ecstatic for the adventure ahead.
