Your POV:
"Yeah!" I cheer with the crowd as the players of our school enter.
"Someone's excited." Tyler teases.
"Well of course I am!" I slightly turn towards him, but still keep my eyes on the court, trying to find Evan.
"You are like a kid who is watching a game in the court for the first time."
"Well," I say, smoothing my hair back. "Technically, not like, I am. Except I'm not I kid."
"Seriously? You've never watched a game here before?" His eyes widen, looking way too surprised for my liking.
"What? It's not a big deal."
"Of course it is!" He yells as I roll my eyes, finally looking at him with my full attention. "Why have you not come here? Do you not like hockey?"
"I do like hockey. It's just, no one has ever invited me to one."
"What? Do you not have friends?"
"I have friends!"
"Imaginary friends don't count."
"Tyler!" My cheeks turn red as I start to feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. He notices my change of mood and instantly stops.
"Sorry I tend to be a dick sometim-"
"I did invite you before." Del cuts him off. "You remember?"
The memories come back to me, okay he did invite me while I refused. In my defense, I thought it'd be very, very awkward to go out with a group of boys when you are only friends with one of them.
Jon did offer to introduce them to me but it's really hard to get out there, especially when I'm seriously not the most outgoing one.
"Right, you did invite me. Sorry, I just suddenly forgot."
"Meh, it's alright."
"Why didn't you come then?" Tyler questions.
"Well, don't you think it'd be so awkward to go out with a group of boys when you only know a couple of them?" I repeat the thoughts I had in my mind earlier to him.
"Maybe..."
"What?" I ask when he stares at me with a weird look. "Why did you agree to come with Evan then? Isn't it the same thing?"
Oh. Wow, I didn't think of that. "I don't know...he didn't tell me who I'll be with or stuff, he only promised me that I wouldn't be alone," I say honestly. He just somehow manage to make me secured by one single promise.
Wildcat remains silent as if he's thinking, so I turn to look at Jonathan, surprisingly found his expression is mixed with shock and...hurt? "Jonathan, what's wrong?"
He quickly sobers up, hiding his emotions immediately. "Nothing, I'm just a bit surprised that you agree to come over with Evan so easily." He says it with a nonchalant tone but I sense some bitterness within the sentence. It's not like him. "Jon I was-"
I was interrupted by another cheer; I look over to the court and see Evan skating along with the team with ease as his eyes scan through the crowd, looking for something. I stare at him, unable to look away as his eyes continue to skim rapidly, and stop when his finally find a specific someone.
His warm brown eyes lock to mines as I feel adrenaline rush through my body. My cheeks heat up and my heart skips a beat when I realize he was looking for me. My face looks like a tomato now, I can feel myself blushing, badly.
His lips curl up into a smile under the mask and I can't help but grin from ear to ear. We were just staring at each other with him standing in the middle of the court, not moving an inch until one of his teammates calls out for him. "Fong! What are you doing?"
And there, he woke up from the little moment we had there, giving me one last smile and then he skated away to their direction. "That was the cheesiest sh*t I've ever seen in my life, I think I'm gonna throw up." Tyler rolls his eyes, looking not impressed at all.
"That was sweet," I answer with my eyes still locked on Evan's figure, smiling as he jokes with his teammates, throwing his head back laughing looking ever so carefree while trying to ignore the hole Jon is trying to burn on the side of my face by staring at me.
"Now I'm seriously going to throw up, see you later." He gets up from his seat but falls back as I grab the hem of his shirt, pulling him back. "No! The game's about to start!" "They've been about to start for a whole century now. I don't-." He was cut up by the bell ringing; I give him a smug look and focus on the game.
