Hidden away in a convent – Hidden!
Lived a pious nun
Chaste like the love she bore – Forbidden!
For the Father's son
This devoted woman was his Sister
His twin of flesh and soul
Of ruddy cheeks and eyes of bister
The one who made him whole
Farther away the distance – lowly!
The more her joy had veered
And when she saw her brother – holy
His Sister shed a tear
Scholastica, his sinless Sister
His twin of flesh and soul
Her chestnut eyes did shine and glister
And her tears he did console
"Where you go, I will follow
Without you, my soul is hollow
Or forever I shall wallow
In my misery and woe"
My sister, do not fear the worst
Your anguish makes my heartstrings burst
Remember that the Lord comes first
He alone can aid this low
Scholastica, his sinless Sister
His twin of flesh and soul
Of ruddy cheeks and eyes of bister
The one who made him whole
