__________
Prologue: Savannah's POV
I remember walking down the long dark hallway. Grasping my mum's hand tightly, not knowing what the doctor was going to say.
Whatever it was, I was hoping there was a cure to make all the pain that I had been feeling disappear.
We walked into the room, just boring old white. My father pulled a chair out from the dark colored wooden table, and motioned for me to sit down. I squeezed my mum's hand tighter as I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. The doctor walked in, "Hello Savannah! How are you feeling?" his ear to ear smile was hiding something. "Fine" I gulped, feeling a lump settle into my throat. My happy go lucky personality was gone, I just needed to know what was wrong with me. "Well" his smile faded, his expression was neutral, "I have some terrible news". My parents eyes were tearing up as they pulled me close. "Savannah" the doctor said, I took a deep breath in, "Savannah you have an uncommon blood disease, Leukemia".
My green eyes were tearing up, I felt my make up smearing down my cheeks.
"But there is a process that has cured millions of people" he smiled. "We'll do anything" My dad said sternly, smashing his fist into the wooden table. "The nurse will come in with some paperwork" the doctor slid out of the room, "take care Savannah" he said, I waved. But all I wanted to know is how long until I'll lose my hair, how long until I can't go to school, how long do I really have left on this planet. My parents filled out the paperwork, and we were headed home. To tell my sister Erin, about my condition.
The car ride home was silent, I was staring out the window the whole time. "Why do all the bad things in life have to happen to good people?" I thought to myself.
