-Jaemin-

Some people see me as the shy kid in my class, my friends would say otherwise.

I say, it depends on who I'm with.

I'm not that open with my class, but when it comes to Mark hyung and the rest of the 00 liners, along with Chenle and Jisung, I don't really stay in my personal bubble.

Maybe it's because I've known them for a while, that's why I can be so comfortable around them.

But what's strange is that I've only known Jeno for about two days and I feel quite close to him already.

Maybe it was because he was born in the same year as me? Or maybe it was because he was getting along with my friends?

I wasn't sure what the answer to that was, but either way, I was sure that I had gotten comfortable around the new kid.

Speaking of the new kid, he had tried out for football and that's the only reason why I'm not at home studying for our test tomorrow.

Because he dragged me.

Literally.

I was just by my locker when he came and hooked his arm around mine. He didn't let go, not even until I closed my locker door. I thought he wanted to walk home — since I figured out yesterday that we live quite close, only an intersection separates us — but I was wrong.

I sighed deeply as I saw him shifting his weight from one foot to another nervously. I chuckled a bit, thinking that it was cute.

He looked at me and gave me a small and nervous smile. I gave him a thumbs up, mouthing that he'd do great. His smile widened a little before focusing his attention back to the tryouts.

My phone vibrated and when I looked at the lockscreen, I saw that I had a text from Renjun.

Junnie:
Jae, I know you're with
Jeno right now, but
is everything okay?

I unlocked my phone with slightly shaking hands. What was I supposed to tell Renjun?

Jaemin:
Jun, seriously, I'm
okay~~ it's nothing

Junnie:
:(( I feel my best friend
senses tingling

Best friend. That's all I am to him. A best friend.

Junnie:
SEE they tingled again

Junnie:
If you say so :((

Junnie:
Just know I'm here okay?

Oh, I know, I know all too well, Renjun.

Jaemin:
Okay~

"Lee Jeno!" The coach announced.

I locked my phone and put it aside and put my focus on the boy trying out for football.

Jeno looked around before meeting my eyes. I gave him a thumbs up and a small, reassuring smile. Only then did I realize how tense he had been since he smiled and his shoulders seemed to relax once he saw me.

"We aren't having this argument again." I chuckled playfully.

"But Jaemin—"

"Jeno, I literally just said that I'm not having this argument again! You were good and that's that." I said as I stopped walking. "If coach doesn't pick you, which I think he wouldn't do, it means he isn't suited for his job."

"Jaemin," he laughed, "you're flattering me."

"It's the truth!"

We laughed softly as we stopped at the playground where Renjun and I were a few days ago.

"Thanks for staying with me, Jae."

"You're welcome, Jeno."

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, bye!"
