"I have this secret area, it's sorta dark but I frickin love it. It's down there."
I turn where he points, and it's a steep downhill.
"Umm that looks dangerous."
"I know." He beamed
"You're actually crazy, you know that."
"I'm know." He repeated
"You want some help?"
"Actually, yeah."I nervously laugh.
We both walked to the drop of the hill.
"Take my hand." He said confidently
Shit! His hand? I'm gonna be holding his hand. I like him way too much for that. What if I freeze again, or worse chicken out. Why am I even thinking about this, we're just two people. That's it don't fucking overthink it Chris. God it's just for a few minutes. Why can't I -
"You ready?" He stared
Fuck those eyes…
"Yeah, yeah!"
He wrapped his hand around mine, tugging at me.
We were doing it. Going downhill. His hands were so warm, I didn't care what we were doing I just wanted us to hold hands. It was definitely steep but Clayton looked determined. I wish I had that confidence. Maybe he's helping me, I don't know. One things for sure, I'd never do this alone.
I'm probably too quiet, gotta say something."Um, so is helping scared guys a specialty of yours?"
"Nope, just you." He chuckled as he led me down.
I smiled.
"You don't usually do this?"
"Go to the forest with some lunatic, no" I entertained
"Lunatic? Wow, I could just swing you forward." He yelled jokingly
I felt his arm yank me forward down the hill.
I almost tripped passing him.
"Ah, you dick." I scoffed"We both have one."
I paused before laughing at that weird statement.
"Well that's true but you're still a dick." I backtracked
" I made you laugh, so who really wins?"
"Clayton, you're something else."
We cautiously made are way down hill to the very end. I turned my head back, staring at the high drop. I would've never done this on my own."It's to the right." He Sprinted, going in that direction.
"Wait up!"
I tried desperately not to fall on any logs or unleveled lands. I followed his footsteps as we made our way through the thick bushes.
"Welcome." He bubbled.
He stood there scanning the area. It was a sort of a surrounded medow, hidden by trees and plants. I see the appeal, it was nice.
"Do you smoke?" He winced.
"As in what?" I replied.
"Weed."
"Weed? Sometimes." I said confusingly watching him
He pulled out something from his pockets, couldn't quite make it out from the distance.
