Aathira

I shouldn't have come to the dance floor.

If Lucas and I continued to dance and Devansh finished his conversation with his family and friends, he might come to us and chime in. We both cannot deny him as it's not proper manners. I can only step back after dancing for a couple of steps. My eyes moved to Emma who was visibly pissed about the turn of events but smiled at me.

Maybe she understood that there is nothing between Lucas and me.

Devansh stepped away from the group by holding a girl's hand who looked dreamy... nope seductively at him but his eyes were on me. He whispered something to his friend, who was sitting next to him earlier and his friend walked away. He joined the dance floor with the girl and stayed to my right. Seeing the girl in his arms, an immediate pang of jealousy hit me.

What the fuck? Why am I feeling jealous when I just met him in person today?

Because he is literally your man of dreams.

He talked, smiled and raised his eyebrows at the girl in his arms but his eyes often travelled back to me, holding our gazes for a couple of seconds.

"Aathira." Lucas called my name to get my attention back to him. "I have been beating around the bush for a while but it seems like I can't delay anymore. Are you free next weekend? I need to discuss something very important."

"I'll keep my schedule free and let you know." Unlike the other times he has been direct this time. After Diggi's advice, I decided to give him the chance and listen to what he wants to say.

"Let me know by Friday." He smiled at me and I nodded in agreement.

It's an improvement Aathi, you have kept your mind away from Devansh for one minute straight after seeing him.

Daah! By thinking this you thought of him again.

As my minds were busy arguing between them, I missed the announcement of the DJ and became alert when Lucas cursed before the song changed.

(No Running From Me from Fifty Shades Darker.)

"What did the DJ..." Before I could finish my question, Lucas spinned me away and I landed in Devansh's arms. I looked at Lucas in shock and he gave me a helpless look before glaring at Devansh. I collected all of my courage and looked up at Devansh.

(Well I'm alive

Your blood is pumping through these veins

I'll catch you by surprise

I'm coming back to take the rein)

My world went to standstill but my heart rate increased rapidly. My head almost spun, as staying in his embrace hit me with a weird mix of strangeness and familiarity. Images from the dreams which ended up with me meeting with an accident bombarded my memories and I tried to take a step away from him.

(Now you're free and well

Just give it a while

Time will tell

That you're under my spell, oh)

But he didn't let me go and held me closer to him. Unlike Lucas, Devansh didn't stop his hand by placing it on my back but he engulfed me into him with his hand touching the bare skin of my waist that was revealed between the saree drape.

(There ain't no running from me, no, no, no

There ain't no running from me, yeah

Oh no)
