You woke early the next morning, stretching and waking up Light to get ready for school. He whines sleepily and you pause, pursing your lips. "But Chimney will miss you~" You coo getting up. He blushes and covers his face at that. "___!!" He whines sleepily. You giggle and go out to the kitchen starting on breakfast. You glance at Zoro's door wondering when he wakes up and pause when he comes out of his room as soon as the question left your mind. He yawns and blinks sleepily at you. You offer him a smile in return before focusing on the food. "Good morning, I wasn't expecting you to be up before me." He comments. "Good morning sunshine, I always get up this early to take Light to his bus stop." You smile. "Oh? I'll walk with you." He decides. "Alright, but I'm walking him to the school so I can talk to his teacher." You tell him. "Mm... We'll be late for school." He says with a slight yawn. "You don't have to come." You remind him. "I'm doing it because I want to make sure you get to school safely." He rumbles, offering a smile when you blink at him in surprise. "You've been really sweet lately Zoro..." You murmur looking at the the food as you move it to a plate. "I'll make you repay me don't worry." He smirks. You raise an eyebrow peering back at him. "Oh? And how will I be able to repay you?" You inquire. "By you and Light coming to watch my kendo matches." He rumbles with a smile. You pause and blush lightly. "Now it just sounds like you want to show off." You tease, setting down the plates as Light comes out yawning sleepily. "I wanna watch ___, I never seen a kendo match before, and Chimney says they're really cool." He tells you. "Well, when you put it like that... I would like to watch Zoro kick some ass..." You hum thoughtfully. Zoro grins at that and you all eat up your breakfast before heading out and walking for Light's school. Zoro had grabbed you one of his scarfs to cover the bruises on your neck. "So are we coming back to Zoro's after school?" Light asks now fully awake and bouncing happily. "Yep, but for now I want you to go home with Chimney until I come pick you up." You tell him. Light grins at that and hugs Zoro happily. "Thanks for letting us stay with you Zoro!" He chimes. "No problem, I was getting lonely..." Zoro shrugs glancing at you. You blink and smile softly looking away. "___ was getting lonely too, she was always looking down before." Light muses. You blush at that. "O-Oh look Light, there's Chimney!" You tell him pointing. He lights up more before dashing over to his friend. You sigh rubbing your cheek, Zoro looks at you thoughtfully. "You too Huh? You think Mr. Dracule knew?" He asks. "Maybe, he's sharp as hell." You shrug, glancing at him and meeting his gaze. He smiles and you blush more when he reaches for your hand. "Yeah, but I'm really glad I finally got to get to know you." He says when you let him take your hand. "Finally?" You echo raising an eyebrow. He clears his throat, pink dusting his cheeks. "Yeah... Ever since that day you punched Kid I've been wanting to get to know you but I couldn't just walk up and tell you that.." He says looking away. "I... Wow... I had no idea." You manage in shock. He shrugs, rubbing his neck with his free hand sheepishly. "I'm not sure why I just admitted that..." He breathes in slight embarrassment. "___ and Zoro up in a tree~!" Chimney starts to sing making Zoro blush heavily. You giggle, feeling too happy to be embarrassed. Zoro glances at you as you try to hide your smile and relaxes, eyes softening. "You're enjoying this aren't you?" He chuckles. "You're so red right now," You giggle. "Shut up... We're there." He rumbles looking away with a smile. "Right." You calm down and lead him inside to Light's home room class. "Hello Ms. Kalifa." You peer in and she looks over along with the other teachers. "Ah, ___, we were just talking about you and Light, come in." She gives a smile. You ease in nodding to Lucci and Kaku, offering a smile. "Is something wrong ___? It's not like you to visit this early." Kaku inquires with a concerned frown. You glance back at Zoro before removing the scarf. Kalifa blinks in shock while Kaku's frown deepens and Lucci's eyes narrow. "I came to request that you don't let them take Light while he's here at school... We're not returning there..." You tell them. "Very well... But you'll have to do something, they can get you for kidnapping." Lucci speaks up. "I'm aware, I'll figure something out, so please help me protect my little brother." You request with a slight bow. "Of course, leave it to us." Kaku smiles. "Now get to school, you're going to be late." Kalifa adds. You smile softly and give them all a hug before hurrying out with Zoro. Zoro gently wraps the scarf around your neck. "You have all the teachers on your side ___." He comments with a smile. "Yeah, but the thing is they still have a hold on us unless a new party demands for custody..." You frown slightly looking ahead. "But who would want me..." "I would, and you and Light are a great team. No one will want to break you two up." He assures with a smile. You blush and smile as well, swiftly kissing his cheek. Zoro blinks and grins like dork at that. You soon reach the school after that, but it was already after the first bell. You share a look and carefully ease in, sneaking for class. "___." Smoker's voice makes you both freeze and look back. "Why are you late, with him?" "We just walked Light to school." You tell him. He raises an eyebrow. "Why would you-" he stops, amber eyes on the scarf. "My office now, Roronoa get to class." He says gruffly before leading you down the hall to his office. You go in and you both sit down. "Take off the scarf." He requests. You nod and do so, Smoker visibly tenses and his fists clench. "Why didn't you call me?" He asks softly. "Because... I was in shock... And I didn't want Zoro to get in trouble for saving me..." You whisper starting to shake and tear up. He looks at you and relaxes with a frown putting a hand on your head. "I'm gonna thank that kid. But first..." He takes out a familiar camera and takes a picture of the bruises. "I have case to work on, now put that back on and get to class." He smiles. You blink at him confused but obey, swiftly heading out. Smoker sits back going over the pictures of yours and Lights abuse. "I think this will help my case... Don't worry ___, you'll be safe soon."
