jack smiled, pink dusting his soft cheeks. fuzzy feeling and the million butterflies trapped inside his stomach made him question whether or not he had absolutely and totally given in. his lips still pursed into a small, lovestruck smile made it obvious -- he has.
without any hesitation, he got dressed and did the morning duties. well, most of them. after fifteen minutes of him standing in front of his mirror, trying to be as flirty and as charming as possible for zach, he had given up. he'd just make a fool of himself, he was sure of it.
"fuck," he'd muttered after realizing he'd forgotten his one and only pen. you see, being a broke college student, he'd rather eat than worry about writing.
but that didn't make him turn back, he just shook his head and tried his best to brush it off and seem cool. for zach. he was pretty sure he's the literal definition of a gay disaster. or.. whatever the trendy teens say these days.
- "hi love," lydia greeted, a light smirk glued on her glossy lips.
"hi? have you seen zach?" jack asked, breathing heavily.
- "the cute twink? he's probably overslept. don't worry, i'm sure he wouldn't abandon you like this," a wink flew jack's way. his cheeks were burning as he turned away.
"thanks," he'd muttered, shaking off the emabarrassment.
so he sat down. he'd even forgotten about the coffee. the only thing he wanted to see and smell right now was the boy. that sounds rather creepy, but there is just something about the way he smells like strawberries and home. home.
jack had shook his head. he'd shaken off the weird feeling of butterflies as he looked in lydia's direction, sadness pooling in his dark eyes. lydia raised her eyebrows, giving jack a sad smile as she greeted another customer.
the customer was a girl. a pretty young one, for that matter. she didn't look any older than 16. her hair was tied up in a messy ponytail, seemigly done last minute, there was a big coat hugged loosely around her shoulders along with a scarf around her neck. her round glasses failed to cover up the dark circles under her eyes.
she'd ordered a pumpkin latté. properly celebrating the spooky season, isn't she? jack had grinned. the girl probably was just buying it to post it on instagram to be aesthetic and whatnot. she smirked at lydia, slipping a piece of paper in her hand and walking out.
jack had giggled at lydia's flushed face. maybe aesthetic was the way to lydia's heart. if jack was straight, he would've definetly chosen lydia. lydia was the kind that will make you laugh and giggle and will be there for you, jack could see that in her eyes when she smiled. but she needs someone to do that for her too.
jack had sighed deeply. it'd been fourteen (14) minutes and there were no signs of the café boy. maybe he was stuck in traffic, maybe he had an unexpected shift, maybe he was in a freak accident, maybe he's de-
heavy breathing and a sudden dramatic opening of the door was brought to jack's attention, his dark orbs focused on the boy. his boy. could he even call him his?
without a word, jack had slipped zach a letter. zach's breathing was quite loud, but he managed to sit down and calm his nerves, quietly opening the letter.
it had a colourful leaf attached to it.
thank you for the flowers..
they're beautiful
xx
