jack was unable to speak. his chopped dry lips were open with his eyes on the letter. what was he supposed to do? call it a day and go home? speak to the boy? his thoughts were overflowing. not for long, as zach had handed him a pen and an envelope, suggesting him to write something - anything. zach's eyes were sparkling when jack rolled his eyes and procceeded to write something. his writing was far from neat - it was almost unreadable. oh how much he'd do for an unknown boy with the neatest handwriting and the cutest face.

soon, jack was finished. the envelope was still open, though. his only glue being his saliva, he licked the envelope as zach blushed, covering his face. this had left jack in confusion, not seeing anything rather blush-worthy in his gesture. zach caught on, realizing jack's innocence, grabbing the envelope from his hand. after ripping it open, his eyes read through the not-that-readable letter from a complete stranger.

dear zach,
you're kinda right. i guess it's creative to not say a single word and still become best buds amirite?? haha. anyway, you excited for halloween?

sincerely, jack

zach's legs almost completely gave out as he felt his heart beat against his chest. the sudden warm feeling lighting up his eyes and dusting his cheeks with a light pink. it definetly was stupid forming a crush on some random stranger you decided to give letters to instead of speaking like a normal human beings do. but, for two antisocial college students, the two were almost perfect for each other.

zach had grabbed another envelope to reply, only to hear his phone vibrate in a long loop. after finding out the cockblocker had been his bos, he quickly jumped from his seat, grabbed his stuff, waved the boy a goodbye and ran as fast as he could.

jack's slow realization kicked in once the warm feeling left him. and like that, the boy who he'd fallen for was gone. where to? nobody knew. maybe he'd catch him next time. he tried to shake off the negative thoughts such as 'oh of course i wouldn't hang out with a fag' and things he doesn't even dare to think. if it wasn't for zach, he wouldn't be fooling around like a thirsty highschool girl.

shaking his head and pushing up his glasses, he'd sipped from his now cold coffee. being an art college student wasn't always easy, especially the homework and group projects. certainly, the zach boy made him forget about all that bullshit. but he was far too nervous to make a move, to tell the boy how he felt, to ask him out..

-  "well aren't you a disaster gay," a sudden pondering followed up by a chuckle immediately made him shift.

-  "hey, it's just me, lydia. i saw everything. you guys are totally into each other. the problem is you're both equally awkward and nervous, meaning neither of you will actually make a move," lydia said, sighing deeply.

-  "look, he has a part time job. don't worry, he didn't run away because of you if that's what you're worrying about. his boss is rather strict and would whoop his ass if he didn't come in time for his shift. so yeah, chill out dude," she just giggled.

"thanks uh.. lydia," jack mumbled, reading lydia's nametag.

-   "no problem, cutie! just hit me up when you need help, wink wonk," a smirked spread on her lips as she laughed.

    "right.."
