zach had awaken to a rather annoying and dull sound of his alarm. his eyes were immediately stuck on the calendar hanging on the wall, a date circled. it was halloween.

this had brought little sparkles over to hid chocolate eyes, happiness and wholesomeness overtaking his mind. it soon was to be a great, really great day.

he hadn't really decided on a costume yet, nor had he put much thought to it. costume wasn't his main focus was the party. what party? you may ask. the one lillie had been going on about for approximately two (2) weeks. zach had obviously been invited by his fellow co-worker. not being able to possibly refuse coming over, he'd just nodded cluelessly.

running a hand through his messy chocolate hair, he'd pulled out an envelope and a paper. his neat hand writing turned into scribbles, as jack's message popped up in his head, making his struck. lovestruck, to be exact. his cheeks getting warmer and his heartbeat picking up, he scribbled the last seven (7) words.

he hummed as he did the morning duties and basic hygene. zach was basically obsessed with skin care as lillie kept pushing the 'you should drink water every 0.5 seconds' agenda down his throat. lillie was also guilty of owning a niche meme account and being nearly instagram famous.

he'd let out a big, heavy sigh before storming out his front door, leaving his fuzzy apartment to face the boy. the boy who'd made him question himself. the boy who'd made him want to look in the mirror and constantly fix his hair, just to look at least a little presentable.

zach hadn't realized he'd already passed the café. embarrassed, he'd turned around, walking toward it. this time, his gaze completely and absolutely fixed on the building that made him happy but also miserable in a way.

immediately, he was greeted by lydia. the chick jack was talking to. he'd glared at her. why was she talking to jack in the first place? no. he had every right to talk to that girl, zach had realized, sighing deeply for the second time today.

-   "hey, don't give me that look. yeah, i may have spoken to your boyfriend.. but i'm gay as fuck dude. i even got this girl's number the other day. he's all yours, cutie," lydia had explained, winking at zach.

"he's not my boyfriend," zach had mumbled in a small voice, flushing a bright red.

-  "you guys need to get together like right now. you're perfect for each other. practically soulmates!" lydia'd exclaimed, waving her hands around eagerly.

"he did say he's in love with me but i don't know if he meant it like for rea-"

-  "he did  w h a t ? dude! that's literally saying he loves and would most likely bend you over and fu-"

"lydia!" zach had exclaimed, blushing deeply at her words.

-   "i'm just trynna say the truth," she'd winked once again, her gaze suddenly focused on the front door opening.

-   "look who's here," she'd whispered, smirking.

zach had froze. way too many emotions flooding through his mind as he looked at the boy who'd basically confessed his love for him just the day before.

quietly, zach had slipped the envelope into jack's hands, smiling sweetly at the boy. jack had smiled back, happily grabbing the letter, nervousness pooling in zach's eyes.

jack grabbed a piece of paper to write that sounds amazing, why don't we get some cute couple costumes hun? and handing it to zach, his ultimate crush and now probably boyfriend.

zach had smiled very, very widely, pulling jack away by his sleeve outside, toward the closest store.

'⟡,

it had almost the time of the party, the two making small adjustments to their costumes. they'd bought two plain shirts. one said "yee" the other "haw". it wasn't really considered a costume, but it'd most definetly make people go aww!

when they had arrived at the party, zach was greeted by lillie, who had taken a liking to jack. zach had shot them a jealous look, lillie immediately jumping from jack.

-   "bloody hell! i didn't know ya lads were shaggin' already. my apologies!" lillie resorted, giggling to herself, making both boys blush madly.

   "i.. it's nothing like that! we're, well-"

-  "nah mate it's alright," she'd grinned, greeting other guests that'd come in.

"your voice is beautiful. like you," jack had whispered, moving closer, extending his hand to grab zach's.

-  "i love you," was all zach could manage to whisper before he was pulled in to feel jack's lips pressed up against his own.
