Just a heads up this chapter might be sad.

Cat

I don't know what was going on, we were just good and now I felt like everything was going down in shambles, I loved August but I felt like things weren't working between us as of late, I was feeling more and more depressed and just from that little comment I knew everything between us would be awkward, he didn't even come to check on me he just left. August tried to hide how he felt but I knew I could see it in his eyes he spaces out more often, we don't talk like we used to everything was just all screwed up but we were still forcing it when we really shouldn't. I had just got out the shower and I was currently moving my stuff out of the bedroom into one of the guest rooms further down the hall, I wasn't going to move everything, I was just going to take a few things at a time.

Just as I was finishing up bringing the last of what I wanted over Zoey walked into the room.

"Mommy?" I looked at her and a small smile eased onto my face.

"What's wrong baby?"

"I'm hungry" she said with a pout.

"Are your brother and sister up?" I asked standing up.

"No their asleep" she said coming to me, I picked her up even though she was too big for me to even doing it, my babies were so tall thanks to their dad.

"Well what does my princess want to eat?"

"Can I have Mac and cheese and barbeque chicken?" I nodded and made my way downstairs with her I got everything out and set the chicken in lukewarm water to thaw while I got all my spices and barbeque sauce together I made sure to clean the chicken before tossing it around in the seasoning and barbeque sauce before setting aside after covering it with Saran Wrap I started on the mac and cheese since I was going to to that from scratch, I had three different cheese parmesan, cheddar and white cheddar, once I was halfway done boiling the noodles, I dropped the chicken in the oven and got some broccoli carrots and butternut squash to steam and put on the side.

Just as I finished everything AJ and Nayla came downstairs rubbing their eyes and I heard the front door open.

"Mommy I hungry" Nayla said pouting.

"I'm hungry baby girl" I said going over to her and AJ, I kissed them both on the cheek just as August walked into the kitchen.

"I'm hungry" she said giggling, I smiled at her and moved her hair from her face, she was looking more and more like her mom lately.

"Well dinner is almost finished so you guys go wash up and dry those hands then you can help mommy set the table how about that?" They all shouted out yayy and ran out of the kitchen, leaving August and I alone, I didn't know why he was still in here but I wasn't gonna question it, I just kept my eyes on my task which was to stir in the different cheeses I had grated into the macaroni with some milk.

"You need help with anything?"

"No" I said softly without looking up. I heard his footsteps get closer and then his scent drifted into my nose, he was standing right behind me I just knew it.

"I'm sorry about what I said, I didn't mean to make you upset baby" he said as his accent slipped out, I always loved that but right now I didn't like it because it was making me feel things I shouldn't be feeling and I didn't like it, I moved out of his grip that he had around my waist.

"It's fine" I said shrugging.

"No it wasn't, I was playing but I shouldn't have made that kind of joke with the situation" he said making me look at him.
