Chapter 6: Newcomers
-Alex's POV:
I hum the lullaby mother would sing me, as I wash my clothes. Then I hear voices.
"Are we going the right way, Harry?" a male voice asks.
"I think so." another voice adds.
"I swear, if you get us lost, I'm beating you to pulp." the first voice growls.
"I won't get us lost." Harry sighs.
"Calm down, Nathaniel. Harry knows what he's doing. I should know, 'cause I'm his brother." a new voice chuckles.
"You make it sound like a good thing." Nathaniel adds, annoyed.
I grab my stuff, and hang it up by my shed, ignoring the boys.
"Hey, you! What are you doing out here!?" Harry's brother exclaims.
"M-me?" I stutter, as they come into view.
"Yeah you. Why are you in the woods all alone?" he asks me.
"I'm not alone," I gain my confidence back.
"Oh really?" he snickers.
"Yes, I have my horse." I remark.
"That horse?" he points at Thunder.
"Yes." I glare at him.
"Fine, fine. Can we stay here too? We ran away." he sighs.
"You ran away?" I ask shocked.
"Yeah, I'm Gabriel, that's my brother Harry, and that's Nathaniel." he introduces them.
"I'm Alexandria," I curtsy.
"As in Princess Alexandria?" Nathaniel gaps at me.
"How do you know me?" I ask him.
"Everyone knows of the runaway princess." he laughs.
"Oh, right." I roll my eyes at my stupidity.
"Well, we'll set up our sheds. Thank you for letting us stay." Gabriel smiles, and they begin making their houses.
