Chapter 4: Running Away

-Alex's POV:

I sit alone in the garden, staring at a rose, not caring that I might get my dress dirty. A tear slides down my face, but I quickly wipe it away.

"Alex?" I hear my sister's voice. "What's wrong?"

"He used me." I sigh, and look up at her.

"He was a no good commoner," Andrea smiles, and brushes the loose hairs away from my face.

"I know, but I let him, I trusted him." I frown at the rose bush. "He's the reason I love roses so much."

"Forget about him, you have an extremely hot guy inside this castle, that is going to marry you, so suck it up, and fall in love." Andrea smiles.

"That's the problem." I sigh. "He saw us together."

FLASHBACK:

"Good morning, Prince Timothy." I smile, weakly.

"Yeah," he keeps walking.

I grab his wrist, and stop him.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"I saw you with that commoner," he hisses.

"What?" I ask, shocked.

"You heard me, don't make me repeat it." he glares at me, and walks away, ripping his wrist out of my grip.

"That happened?" Andrea asks me, shocked.

"Yeah, I was as surprised as you are." I frown. "What am I gonna do?"

"Run away." she pulls me up. "I'll help you. Come on."

We get into my room, and pack my things. Later that night, Andrea and I strap my luggage to a horse, and I hop on.

"I love you, Andrea." I sob, as she cries.

"I love you too, Alex. Be careful." Andrea cries.

"Always," I smile, through the tears.

Then I take off into the night.
