October Writing Challenge Day 4: Curse

I recently found this cute post on Tumblr on what is plants absorbs cures and since I'm sure the theme of mongers will get old quick, might as well mix it up!

"What the hell?! I just watered it yesterday!" yelled Kaito as he found the recently dead ivy plant resting on the window seal to his home. Its rare for plants to die in the astronaut trainee's care, normally he would lose one plant a year but this has been the third one. He was clueless to what has been killing his plants, he watered them each day and made sure they got the right amount of sunlight!

Kaito was torn from his thoughts when the door to his home opened and the familiar voice of his boyfriend Kokichi rang through the house. "Momo-Chan, I'm home!" he chirped while tugging his commander's hat off his head and placing it aside.

"Kokichi? Have you been over watering the plants?" Kaito asked while walking to meet up with Kokichi who tilted his head in confusion.

"What? I don't touch your plants after last time, " it was true, ever since Kokichi accidentally killed his favorite venus fly trap plant my making it close its deadly jaws one too many times because he thought it was cool looking.

"Well the ivy is dead, this is the third plant this year!" Kaito huffed with annoyance. Kokichi could tell Kaito was getting frustrated and instinctively pulled him into a hug.

"Calm down idiot, it's probably just because the plants are old. We had that ivy for years!" Kokichi tried comforting and it seemed to be working as Kaito returned the hug.

"This just isn't normal, it was completely healthy yesterday!" Kaito frowned but couldn't help but relax when Kokichi ran his small nimble hands through his hair.

"Just calm down, I'll talk to Kiyo or Rantaro tomorrow to find out what's going on, " Kokichi smiled and pressed a kiss to Kaito's forehead. Whatever worries Kaito had seemed to melt away as a warm smile higher at his lips.

"Ok Kich, now whos up for a Star Wars night?"

"Only if you let me dress up at Crylo!"

"Deal!"

The next day Kaito found yet another plant dead, this one is the spider plant. Why was this happening?! All these plants were completely health! Kaito let out a frustrating yell as he stormed into the living room and plopped down on the couch face first. He stayed like that until he heard the door open and Kokichi stepped inside.

"Another one huh?" Kokichi raised an eyebrow while walking up to Kaito's side. The only answer he received was a soft groan. "Well, I got some info from both Kiyo and Rantaro!" Kokichi smiled brightly and watched how Kaito looked up at him expectantly. "Kiyo first, he told me some crazy theory from a legend that said plants fight off curses and shit, " Kokichi saw how Kaito paled at the mention of curses and couldn't help but snicker "Rantaro, on the other hand, says that since its almost winter the plants aren't gonna last longer, "

"Winter? Wait what month is it?" Kaito asked while pulling out his phone. It was nearing the end of November and smacked himself in the head.

"Your such an idiot sometimes!" Kokichi burst into laughter making him cover his mouth to muffle the noise.

"Yeah but I'm your idiot, " Kaito retorted before suddenly pulling Kokichi into a hug, drawing a squeak from the small leader.
