Jesy followed the fast Leigh-Anne all the way to a shoe store. "Leigh-Anne!" She cried entering. As soon as she made it in she started panting with hands on her knees. "Damn she's fast."
"Jesy!" Leigh ran to her and helped her to stand straight. "You were following me this whole time? Aww." She spun around. "Oh would you like me to buy you some new shoes?" She ran to a shelf stacked with stylish sneakers. "Like these?" She did a pose.
Jesy looked at all of the shoes in awe. "Oh my God. Wow. I don't think that I could afford any of these." They looked nice though. She stepped forward to get a closer look. "Damn. Does this place only sell shoes?" As she spun herself she realized that the entire room was a shelf of shoes. "Damn. This place is like . . . heaven." She would give anything to just buy a few pairs.
"I know right? Shoes are like my life. I love them! It's why I own forty-six pairs!"
Jesy was startled by that. "Bitch what? How the hell do you own a whole forty-six pairs of f*cking foot clothes?" She was trying to understand where she was. "Bitch I only own two pairs and the ones I'm wearing now are squeezing the living daylights outta my feet."
"Uh-oh." Leigh-Anne looked down at Jesy's feet. "Your shoes hurt your footsies Jesy?" She pouted sadly. "I feel so sad now."
A worker walked by. "Can I help you ladies with anything?" She was dressed stylishly and sounded like she knew about fashion just by the way she spoke.
Jesy snapped herself out of her stupor. "No. It's fine. We were just leaving." She held Leigh's wrist.
Leigh-Anne yanked her arm away. "Actually, you can. My friend here would like a new pair of shoes. Her shoes now hurt her little feet and it's so sad that it makes me wanna cry."
Jesy blushed and then hissed Leigh's name. "Don't listen to her Miss. She's actually suffering from a ment-"
"Jesy!" Leigh-Anne shouted. She grinned at the lady. "Get her something edgy and sexy!" She started hopping up and down.
"What? No. All of these shoes are expensive. Don't get me something edgy and sexy." Jesy could not believe Leigh-Anne. It was not that she was not dying to have one of these amazing footwear to call her own but this was just Leigh's crazy talking. She would probably regret this later.
The lady was already staring at Jesy's feet and thinking of what would look nice on her. "I have the perfect pair for a gal like you." She skipped away to a different section of the store.
"What? Hey come back. Don't listen to anything she says. She's suffering from a mental illness!" Jesy called after the lady who was already gone.
"Stop telling people that Jesy. If you continue then no one is going to want to be my friend." Leigh told her sadly looking at her feet.
Jesy shook her head. "But I need to tell them so they can know not to listen to you. What is your mum going to think when she finds out you blew a bunch of money on a pair of shoes for me?"
Leigh-Anne looked up at her with a sad pout and wide watery eyes. "I just want you to be comfortable Jesy. I really like you, you know. You're my favourite person. I dream about you every night and I want you to live with me in a castle."
Jesy was very lost by the tears which fell. "Bucky . . ." She hugged Leigh-Anne without thinking. "Will this really make you feel good?"
Leigh nodded slowly.
"Fine! Buy me one pair but that's it." Jesy found herself a soft leather seat to rest in. She had been at it from since four a.m. She felt pretty exhausted about now. Bucky over there doesn't seem all that tired though.
