"Are we done yet?" I ask. My arms feel like they're about to fall off, my head hurts, and I have four guy's numbers in my pocket that are taking up space.
Kate shakes her head and I almost bust out in tears.
What is life?
"We have to get smoothies first!"
She says cheerily and my mood instantly brightens.
Smoothies make anything better, it's a well known fact. We stop at the small Smoothie King shop and I rush inside telling Sam to hold my bags. I get in line, regretting running. My legs are on fire. I grit my teeth.
It's for the smoothie, it's for the smoothie.
I repeat this in my head until the pain my legs becomes bearable.
"Are you okay?"
I turn around and face what I think is a male model.
Holy pineapples.
He has messy blonde hair that has fallen into his eyes which are a perfect mix between blue and gray. Perfect nose. High cheekbones. Perfect lips and a chiseled jaw that you could cut ice with. Keyword here: perfect.
He's slightly muscled and you can tell that the tight fitting v-neck he has on is hiding a six pack.
I swallow and look back up at his slightly amused face. This six foot one giant easily puts my measly five foot five to shame.
I frown at his question. "Well considering my entire body feels like it's been torn apart and put back together. Not really, but thanks for asking kind stranger."
He laughs. His laugh makes me smile, it's light and welcoming. "My name's Jess. And you're welcome."
I salute him. "Allie." I turn around looking at the menu.
"Uhm, I'll take a Bluberry Heaven smoothie, please."
The cashier doesn't answer and I finally look at him. His attention is on my chest. I sigh, and silently curse Kate for forcing me into this extremely low cut shirt.
I cross my arms and his gaze intensifies if possible. I roll my eyes.
Boys.
"You do know my eyes are up here right?" The boy looks up lazily, not even pretending to be embarassed.
"My bad, what was that?"
I close my eyes.
Do not kill this boy, you might hurt yourself.
After convincing myself that my body cannot handle murder right now I open my eyes.
"I said : I'll take a Blueberry Heaven smoothie, please." Alas, even with my self calming my voice comes out sounding irritated, and I'm sure my face confirms it.
The boy's eyes widen and he nods quickly as if sensing my low patience.
That's a good boy, get my smoothie, peasant.
Behind me Jess laughs loudly. "You're funny." I spin around.
Did I say that out loud?
Jess snickers. "Sure did, Allie."
I groan. "Did I say that out loud too?" He shakes his head but still looks amused.
"But now I know you were thinking it." He wiggles his eyebrows and I laugh.
"Here's your smoothie." The boy at the cash register says and I turn around grabbing it quickly.
I walk off and sit down at and sit down at an empty booth, staring off into space.
I wonder if unicorns like smoothies. I mean they'd have to right? Smoothies are like the best thing since sporks. Or was it sliced bread. Pshh, sporks are way better than that. I think. But what if the whole world was overtaken by sliced bread eating aliens. Hmm, I guess it is pretty use-
"Allie?"
I practically jump out of my skin at the sound of Jess' voice. I take a deep breath turning my attention away from the world's sliced bread vs. sporks epidemic and back to Jess' panty dropping face.
I'm just saying, if he ever gets tired of his right hand I'm right here.
"Yeah?" I ask. He raises an eyebrow looking slightly amused.
"Do you always zone out like that?" I shrug, sipping on my smoothie.
"Kinda, it's part of my charm." Jess laughs, shaking his head.
"AALIYAH MARIE COLE."
Some emo boy comes marching into the store and over to me looking furious. I take a closer look at him. His bright blue eyes seem really familiar for some reason. I take a look at his extremely long hair and gasp.
"Sam?! What did Kate do to you, and is that, eye liner?" I ask incredulously. Sam is definetely a pretty boy. I mean, Hollister all the way.
He nods glaring at me. "I'm going to kill-"
I frown. "Don't call me that." Everyone who knows me knows that I hate being called by my full first name. I shudder. Ugh.
He smirks, temporarily forgetting about his makeover. "Why? That's your name."
Jess throws me a confused look. "I thought your name was Allie?"
I nod still glaring at Sam. "It is." Sam's smirk widens and I consider pouring my smoothie on him. I shake my head mentally. That would be a poor waste of a smoothie. "That's not what your birth certificate says."
I stand up and look him dead in the eye. "My birth certificate can shut the hell up." I snap. "We're leaving, I'll meet you outside." He nods the smirk never leaving his face and walks away sipping on my smoothie. My jaw drops and I narrow my eyes at his retreating form.
Watch your back, Samuel Alexander Mathews.
I hear a cough and whip my head around so fast it's a miracle I didn't get whiplash.
Jess.
I give him an apolegetic look. "I'm sorry you had to see that." He waves his hand dismissively and stands up. "No big deal, Ms. Allie Cole. But I have to go and you do too, I'll see you around?"
I nod, smiling. "Definetely." He grabs my hand and I raise eyebrow at him feeling a piece of paper. I look down it.
His number. I pocket it and look back up. He's gone. I shrug and go outside of the small shop, grabbing Sam's arm. "Come on, jackass." He follows my instructions, muttering under his breath. "She's still mad." I smirk at him.
"Be glad I haven't stabbed you yet."
