Jin's POV
When Jin first heard the idea of the letter, he thought it was all pretty unnecessary. Kind, but he was able to take care of himself, thank you very much. Namjoon really seemed to like the idea, as did the maknaes, so Jin decided it wouldn't hurt anything. In fact, it could be fun having–what Jin figured they would turn out to be–groupies–along for the ride. It would make him feel like an old timey American band. And that was good.
When he met the girls, they were a nervous mess, which he understood. It wasn't everyday you met someone so handsome. Most of the staff were nervous the first time they met him, even one's who were older adults. These were just girls, all younger than Jungkook, who was still–what? Seventeen? No, he was older than that, he just had a birthday. Doesn't matter. They were younger than Jungkook so Jin could see how they would get intimidated by his Adult Worldwide Handsomeness.
He had to set them straight. He couldn't have people who were supposed to be his "Rest Managers" (his hands involuntarily formed air quotes while he was contemplating this) scared to talk to him now could he? After the concert tonight, he would call them to his hotel room and give them a stern talking to. It was necessary.
The concert in Newark was amazing. Just as fun as the one last night, and all the ARMY seemed to enjoy the show. Between songs, whenever Jin was able to take a breather, the girls were there. They gave him water when he needed it, found him chairs and snacks and whatever else he needed, but they still looked slightly lost. Overwhelmed. Confused. That wouldn't do. Jin began drafting things for their talk that night.
Most of his dongsaengs fell asleep on the way to the hotel after the concert. Good, they liked to stay up super late, so they needed to sleep now. Maybe these "Rest Managers" could get their sleeping schedules straightened out. Probably not, but Jin hoped they would try. It would be funny to watch them try.
They arrived at the hotel and the boys all but trudged to their rooms. Jin watched the three girls down the hallway, many doors away from his own, as they spotted him and collectively ran into a room. He was going to text Sejin hyung to have the girls collected and sent to his room. He briefly worried about the language barrier and considered bringing Namjoon in to translate, but Jin decided that Namjoon would not be stern enough, and these girls needed to learn Korean anyway. Jin was confident in his knowledge of English enough to figure he could navigate his way through this lecture.
Jin got comfy in his RJ pajamas after his quick shower. He texted Sejin hyung asking, "Can you please send the 'Rest Managers' to my room?" He kept using the quotes because he thought their title was funny for how young they were. People younger than Jungkook as managers? Likely story.
Jin was expecting Sejin hyung to respond with a text, so when someone knocked on his door, he automatically checked his phone instead. Then he realized it was the door. He found his slippers on the floor next to his bed then went to the door. He tried to guess who would be behind it. Jimin? Taehyung? Surely not any of the girls so soon after he sent that text.
Sejin hyung was at the door. He could have just texted back instead of coming to his room, Jin thought. In Hyung's hands were three BTS LG smartphones. Jin laughed when he saw them, thinking about how many times he had to record saying "Good Morning" before he finally said it well enough to his liking. What was Hyung doing with so many of these phones?
"You asked me to send in the girls?" he asked. Jin nodded. He poked his head into the hallway, looking to see if they were somehow hidden from his view. There were no girls.
"I haven't gotten them yet. Look, we forgot to give them these, so please do that and tell them these are their work phones," Sejin hyung told him.
