Ethan and I moved into a house. It's close to his parents. We have almost completed decorating. There's 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a study. I got a new job as an assistant. My boss is really cranky and makes me do all her work. It pays wonderfully so I deal with it. Ethan works as a vet. When he told me he got the job there, I made him promise to keep anything sad that happened to himself.

We've been busy for a couple of nights these last few months. I loved being with him. It brought so much joy, even after all this time.

"Jayden!" Ethan yelled from the bathroom. "What?" I screamed from the kitchen. "Go get ready I'm taking you somewhere." "Ok!" I said . I finished cleaning and ran into our room. I threw on a black dress and quickly curled my hair. I beat my face and slipped on some black heels. When I was done, Ethan was sitting in a barstool. He was in a black suit, he had his hair slicked and the new highlights he got were just showing. When he heard me his head turned and his jaw dropped. I couldn't help but blush and smile. I turned away and he got up and ran toward me.

"You don't have to hide your smile from me, it's beautiful." That made me smile and blush even more. "Cmon babe," he said "I'm driving." I still had my Jeep, and surprisingly it still worked pretty good.

We pulled up into a big fancy restaurant. There were fountains and statutes, it was beautiful. "Wow," I say, "This is stunning." "Yeah it is," Ethan says with the same look on his face. Then he looks at me, "But not as stunning as you." He kissed my cheek and grabbed my hand. We walked into a gorgeous room with chandeliers and beautiful lights everywhere. We walk up to the guy in the podium. "For Dolan." Ethan says. "Follow me." He leads us to a patio table, we're the only ones out here. "Can I start you off with any drinks?" "Water please." I say. "I'll have a water too." Ethan says. "I'll be right back." The man disappears behind the door we walked through just a few moments before. I look out into the city. The bright lights and all the sounds, I love them. I could see Ethan looking at me. "I truly love you E." I say still looking out. "I love you too Jay." My heart warmed up and I reached across the table to grab his hand.

The waiter came back out and got our orders. We chatted as we waited, I sipped on my water, and crunched on some ice. We munched down our food once the waiter was out of sight. We were enjoying everything. The food, our company, the city noise. Ethan suddenly dropped his fork. "Oops" he laughs. Once he's on the floor I feel him tickle my leg. "What are you doing down there?" I ask while laughing. He crawled back out with a small box in his hand. "Jayden," he began while he propped himself up on his knee, "will you marry me?"

Utter shock took over my body. "YES!" I screamed, probably louder than I should have. I fell into his arms and kissed him. When I look him in the eyes he's crying. "What's wrong?" I ask as tears start forming in my eyes. "You, you just made me so happy." He picked me up twirled me around. When I landed back on my feet we had our noses together. "I love you." We whispered at the same time. We stopped and looked at each other before we burst out laughing.

Once we settled down Ethan put the ring on my finger. It was perfect. I grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight. I watched as the lights danced on my fingers and slightly onto the table. "Thank you Ethan." I say, "I love you so much." "I love you too Jayden," he said, "more than you'll ever know."

The drive home I stared at the ring. It filled me with so much joy. Ethan called his mom and told her the news while I called Riley.

"WHAT?!" Her voice boomed through the phone, "Oh my god congratulations girl!" "Thanks," I say giggling. We stayed on the phone for hours. Once we finally hung up  I snuck outside. "Mommies getting married." I said softly. I still talk to her, whether she can hear me or not. Tears stung my eyes as I sniffled and looked back up. In the sky, one lone star twinkled. I smiled to myself. Ethan walked outside and wrapped me in his arms. "She's still here," I whisper. "She always will be." He says. I turn and kiss him. I look out into the sky on last time before we head back in.
