Things went back to normal between you and Jimin over the next couple of days and you were so glad. You were terrified of letting deeper feelings develop for him, afraid you would mess everything up and lose your sweet kitten companion. You were content with things the way they were now and he seemed to be as well.

One Wednesday Hoseok wandered into the bakery alone late in the morning when you had slowed down for the day. You smiled, excited to see him. "Yoongi, do you mind if I sit down and have coffee with Hoseok?"

"Sure thing boss, I can handle it." He said, winking. You rolled your eyes but grabbed coffee and breakfast and dragged your friend down to a far table to chat.

You sat with your back to the counter and looked at him expectantly. "What?" He asked, looking at you like you were being weird and sipping his coffee.

"Well? I'm ready to hear about you and Tae!" You replied intensely.

He rolled his eyes and set his coffee down. "I don't know, there isn't much to tell..." he said, slightly embarrassed.

"Well you had better come up with something mister, because I had to explain to Jimin that Tae loves you differently than he loves me after he saw you kiss and it was awkward and you owe me." You said, crossing your arms and staring him down.

"Fine, fine," he sighed, setting his coffee down and leaning back in his chair. "It just...developed is all. Tae has always been affectionate and needy. If I don't give him enough attention he tends to make messes, and he had separation anxiety when I first got him. None of that ever bothered me though, because I loved him from the moment I laid eyes on him you know? And I always loved to shower him with affection anyway. I had had him for a couple months and one day when I got home from work..."

-flashback-
(First person Hoseok)

I closed the door behind me and Tae came flying around the corner to collide with me, his tail wagging wildly behind him as he threw his arms around me. "You're finally home! You were gone for sooo long I thought you might never come back!" He whined, hugging me tightly.

I ruffled his hair and pulled back, shaking my head. "I was gone the same amount of time as every other day, silly boy." I chuckled, leaning in to give him his usual peck on the cheek but he turned his head at the last second so I caught his lips. I pulled away and started to apologize but then I saw his face and knew he had done it on purpose.

"Tae?" I asked uncertainly, taking a step back from him. I realized my back was now nearly against the door as he stepped toward me, his gaze heavy.

"I missed you," he said softly, closing the distance between us. He gripped my hands in both of his and leaned his body against mine, pressing me against the door. He slid his hands up my arms and cupped my face, staring intently into my eyes as my breath caught in my throat. "I missed you so much Hobi," he breathed in his deep, melodic voice before leaning in and pressing his lips against mine. I was shocked at first but as he moved his mouth against mine my eyes fluttered closed and I gave in, parting my lips against his and gripping his waist with my own hands. He pressed his tongue into my mouth and I let out a tiny moan into his, making him smile into the kiss.

He continued to kiss me deeply for a moment, pressing my back against the solid wood of the door and then he pulled away and looked down at me with hooded eyes. He smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me against him and sighing contentedly. "I love you Hobi hyungie," he said, nuzzling my neck.

I clutched him to me, feeling warm and content. "I love you too baby boy," I whispered, his tail swishing happily behind him.

-end of flashback-

"...and it's pretty much been like that since," he said, blushing.

"Hobi!" You squealed, grabbing his hand. "So he just kissed you and that was it?" You asked, wide eyed.

He shrugged, embarrassed. "I guess so. I didn't realize I felt that way about him until it happened."

"You two are so sweet," you sighed, standing up. "Well, time to get this place cleaned up for the day. Thanks for stopping by and telling me your story."

He chuckled and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Maybe you'll have a story to tell me one of these days," he said, raising his eyebrows at you suggestively.

"Hobi, shut up!" You hissed, pushing him toward the door. He laughed and waved, calling goodbye to Yoongi who was leaning against the counter as he headed out.

"Wasn't very romantic though," the cat scoffed after Hoseok had left, wrinkling his nose, his arms crossed in front of him. He shook his head. "Leave it to a dog to just attack someone like that as soon as they walk through the door," he said with a disapproving tone.

Your head whipped around to him. "Wait, you were listening?"

He gestured at the large black ears poking through the black hair at the top of his head. "Kinda hard not to," he said obviously, wiggling them slightly at you.

You giggled and reached up to give them a quick scratch as you headed to the kitchen to clean up. "Try harder next time! It's rude to eavesdrop."

"How about you talk softer if you don't want me to hear, huh?" He called back to you, heading out to flip the sign to closed.

"What?" You yelled from the back. "I can't hear you because I'm minding my own business!" He burst into laughter as he headed back to help clean the kitchen with you. "And how could you say that wasn't romantic? It was a cute story!"

He shrugged with his back to you as he started filling the sink with hot water and soap to wash the dishes, you waited for his explanation from across the room with your hands on your hips. "Cute isn't the same thing as romantic. Our kiss was r-romantic-" he cut himself off and coughed, shaking his head. "I mean - dogs just don't know how to be romantic anyway. And they smell," he grumbled, busying himself with the dishes and not looking over at you.

You raised your eyebrows but let it go, turning to get to work yourself. You had started to wonder if maybe he had forgotten about that time, or if maybe you had dreamed the kiss. You smirked to yourself and shook your head. "Whatever you say, kitty cat."

He threw a glare at you at that, making you laugh out loud and the two of you finished up together, chatting like normal.
