Part 47

He carried the cake in one hand and held yours tightly with his other as the two of you walked to Hoseok's in your matching leather jackets. When you knocked on the door it flew open and Taehyung jerked you inside, pulling you into a tight hug. Hoseok quickly took the cake from Jimin before Tae released you to throw his arms around his friend next.

"Hi guys! Happy Birthday noona!" He sang happily, tugging you into the dining room where everyone was gathered. Yoongi and Jungkook sat at the table and greeted you happily as you and Jimin went in and sat down next to each other across from them. Tae hurried to sit on Jimin's other side, chatting with his friend. Yoongi smiled warmly at you from across the table and you returned it.

"Happy birthday boss," he said, flicking his ears in annoyance at the volume of the younger hybrids' chatter.

"Thanks kitty," you said with a grin, looking toward the open kitchen.

"Hello y/n, happy birthday," Jin called from the kitchen where he stood at the stove, Namjoon nodding at his words from next to him and raising his hand in greeting, as you smiled and waved back, calling out in thanks. "Babe, no - here you just stir this and give me the knife, I'll chop that," Jin said, making the younger switch places with him and taking a long chef's knife out of his hand. Namjoon rolled his eyes in response but did as he was told, leaning in to brush a kiss to the older's cheek.

"Yes dear," he said with a smile. Hoseok chuckled at them as he sat next to you, giving you a wink and a grin.

"Almost done guys," the oldest called from the kitchen.

Jimin ate quickly and then bounced in his seat until everyone else had finished, both nervous and excited. Jin asked Jungkook to clear the table and Hoseok had Taehyung help him. As soon as they were done and had returned to their seats Jimin turned to Yoongi. "Did you bring it?" He asked excitedly. The dark cat just smiled at the younger's enthusiasm and got up, leaving the room briefly and coming back with a box which he had wrapped carefully in black and silver paper and tied with a white bow, setting it before you. You looked up at him and then over at Jimin in surprise.

"You guys didn't have to get me anything," you said shyly, glancing around the table and making all the men chuckle almost in unison.

"Open it baby," Jimin said softly, suddenly looking nervously. You obliged, pulling the ribbon off carefully and then tearing the paper. Inside was a fairly thin cardboard box, and you opened the lid to reveal a crisp, black apron, folded to show the chest which was embroidered with a golden yellow sunrise, the words 'Kitties and Cupcakes' emblazoned across it in thick, pink cursive letters. The 'K' in Kitties had whiskers and the 's' at the end of cupcakes was iced, and your name was embroidered in the top corner in matching pink cursive with a heart next to it. Your mouth fell open and you reached your hand out to ghost your fingers over the design, staring in amazement. Jimin bounced nervously in his seat next to you, watching your face closely for your reaction. Yoongi seemed to hold his breath from across the table too, although he was being much less obvious than the younger cat. "D-do you hate it?" Jimin asked in a small voice, and everyone around the table waited silently for your answer. You blinked hard and turned to look at your kitten quickly, tears pooling in the corners of your eyes.

"H-hate it? Jimin, I love it," you said, reaching for the apron and lifting it out of the box to look at it, only to gasp and drop it in surprise when you saw a second in the box below it, this one with orange writing over the sunrise and Jimin's name in the corner with ears drawn on the 'J' and a tail coming from the end. You admired it briefly before lifting it to see a third beneath it, this one with blue writing for Yoongi. You clapped your hand over your open mouth and looked between them. "You guys! Did you design this?" You asked them, your eyes widening as you tried to quickly wipe away the happy tears that had escaped.
