Blowing Bubbles
That’s how I saw her for the first time: blowing bubbles.
Some would think it weird if they saw a college girl blowing bubbles down from the second floor of the science building in the middle of the afternoon, but to me I think she looked absolutely beautiful.
Long velvety black hair, bright brown eyes that were rimmed with long dark lashes and eye-catching gorgeous lips that would have put even Angelina Jolie to shame, that’s how beautiful the bubble-blowing girl was.
I stood there, transfixed. Until a lone bubble drifted down towards me and like a child I took out my index finger and popped it-I smiled just as the bubble burst. I looked up and I saw that the “bubble-girl” saw what I just did and smiled at me.
“Enjoying yourself?” her sweet voice rang out soft and clear from the second floor balcony.
“Yeah, “ I said as loud as I could from the ground floor.
She looked at me for what seemed like forever before she gave me a lopsided smile. “Good,” the bubble girl replied as she blew a set of bubbles down at my direction and like a child I tried popping every last one before they drifted away or popped on their own. I stopped when I heard a laugh-her laugh, her enthralling laugh-and I look up and see her smiling at me. At first I was surprised but a moment later I find myself smiling back at her. And we just stood there smiling idiotically at each other until the ring of the warning bell, signaling that next period was about to start, broke through our reverie.
I still had class at the other side of school so I reluctantly waved goodbye to her and watched as she waved back, blew one last set of bubbles at me and just as a bubble popped right infront of my face, she disappeared from my sight.
