The walk to the place had been hectic with the team bombarding Damien with questions and him refusing to answer any. Before they had started the hike, they changed into their civilian clothes. They stopped at what looked like a normal mountain wall.

''Why'd we stop?'' Garfield asked. Ignoring his question Damien pulled out a pan flute and began to play an ancient melody and pressed his thumb to the middle of the wall where it pierced his skin and extracted a drop of his blood. The wall cracks began to glow bright red and started to rise from the ground creating an arched shaped hole where the wall once was.

''What in the world?'' Garfield said his mouth hanging agape trying to comprehend what had just happened.

''Close your mouth you'll catch flies'' Damien remarked tense at all the attention he was receiving towards him. He realized they were waiting for him to go in first. He took a deep breath and stepped inside the place he had spent so many nights training away from the watchful eye of his mother.

''Is this one of Batman's places? ''Garfield asked wanting to get as much info out of him as he could.

''No, my mothers'' Damien said, not wanting to say any more than he had to.

''Your mom, I thought you lived with your dad''

''Yes'' he replied not wanting to give his backstory in the reached place. As he was walking, the team walking quickly behind him, he heard a shuffle coming from the main kitchen. His head snapped in the direction, the team not missing a beat also turned their heads in the direction, he moved with the stealth he had been born to learn not to alert the intruder but when he opened the door all he found was a kitten. He let out a sharp exhale. Nobody knows about this place apart from me and mother but now she's gone he thought.

{FLASHBACK}

He ran through the clearance in the mountains,  expertly moving and jumping to get to his destination. The old base had long been forgotten by the league but after some tries and stumbling across he came to learn how to enter the forgotten base. He spent most nights here training without the pressure of his mother and grandfather, he also came whenever he needed a break from the stress that came with being the heir to the league of assassins. When the clock on the wall struck one a.m he would return to the league and be awoken at four. Nobody ever  knew about his nightly escapades 'till one night his mother, while searching the perimeter for intruders because the area was on high alert, had spotted him running off and followed him to the forgotten base to see him playing the old piano that had been left inside the place.

''Damien, stop that foolishness at once'' her voice boomed over the once quiet room.

''M-Mother?'' he said the fear evident in his voice.

Once they had returned to the base she ordered two of her most highly skilled trainees to give Damien a''lesson in obedience'' . He never came back to the base again and he especially never disobeyed his mother again

                                                               {end of flashback}

''-amien,Damien, DAMIEN'' someone shouted from across the room.

He was snapped out of his thoughts. His team was looking at him with puzzled looks.

''You okay?'' Grayson asked

''Fine''

Although that was a far cry from true he was determined not to show it, to hide his emotions under a mask like he was trained to cause after all

emotions are a weakness and if you don't show them then you cant get hurt
