It was a rare occasion for girls to go to school, and no one ever
thought jen or the girl with no tongue would get in..
Jens father has worked for the school's principal for years now, and has finally made his way with convincing him into considering Jen. Jen will be watched very hard, and if she does not do excellent then her father will surely be fired for wasting the time of such an important busy man such like the principal, Mr. Kin. Jen knew she had to do her best, for if her father lost his job they would surely go homeless.
Even with all sons working in the fields, and mother sewing dresses, money was very tight in this village and could simply not be given to anyone!
Jen specialized in writing (hence, she could not talk) and was very eager knowing she would excel the boys in her essays.
