Hola! how are you doing? This is my next chapter and I hope you find it interesting..;)
I introduce you to Caleb Alston in this part. Sorry for the typos.Chapter 3
(Caleb Alston)
"Caleb Alston?" The scrawny assistant called out my name. Ah, atlast.
"I'm here." I got up from my seat and walked to the door. He just nodded his head and let me inside.
"Best of luck, Mr. Alston." He smiled while closing the door.
I strolled inside the room radiating confidence and came across a middle aged man sitting in the desk in front of me. He must be the person interviewing me today, Mr. Drake Hawer.
"Mr. Alston, take your seat." That was my cue to sit down on the comfortable looking leather chair placed before me. I sat and took a quick glance around the room while Mr. Hawes went through my file. The office was spacious with a cherrywood table in the center and two leather seats placed in front of it, one of which I'm sitting on. The whole room is quite modern themed with a crescent shaped book holder, importantly magazines and a black cupboard on my left. A shopping bag was placed near the table edge, the sunlight falling on it, giving clue of a teddy bear inside it.
I quickly retreated my vision onto the person who's about to question me. Dressed in a professional suit with an ink stained shirt, which he failed to notice, Mr. Hawes radiated power and supremacy. The post I applied for is confidential for the whole company and must be kept with utmost secrecy. That's the reason why the chairman decided to interview me himself. Right on time, he cleared his throat ready to speak and raised his head.
"Good morning, Mr. Hawes." I greeted the man.
"Good morning to you too." Was his reply.
"So, what's the reason for applying this job particularly? I see that you have a good acedemic background. Taking into consideration that... this is your first job right after University training, I have to reconsider before granting you this position." He said scrutinising my expression.
The important thing one shouldn't forget is the fact that, never lose your cool demeanour. This is a part if the test, making you lose or doubt your capabilities and confidence.
"To answer your question, I've always wanted to acquire this job. It's what I've found most interesting and galvanizing. And sir, I believe you wouldn't find another person like me for this position. I have no professional background, which clearly implies that I didn't belong to any other organisation before, and most of all, I'll remain loyal to my first employer. Let me prove my skills sir, if you grant a permission."
"Alright, enlighten me Mr. Alston." He said
This is it. It's my chance to nail this job. I have a lot more things to prove in future...
I closed my eyes and started speaking,
"I'm in here for five minutes... here's what I observed, three telephones, two black and one red. This table has three magazines, Empire State , City and State and Metro New York, five pens, two ink and a highlighter. There is a panasonic fax machine, an apple desktop with a keyboard, one ashtray sleek black colored, a one litre bottle and cigarettes, one white colour lighter. On my back, there is a shelf with atleast twenty to twenty four books, there is a smart phone in a chair-type holder. Since these items are to the left side of the table, I can say you're a left hander. I can smell coffee too Mr. Hawes... maybe black? And, please take your pen from your shirt pocket. It's been leaking for quite some time." I finished confidently and slowly opened my eyes.
