I am currently in Pewter City, sitting here in the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy are taking care of my Pokémon after my rematch against Brock, the Gym leader of Pewter. He is the first gym leader I defeated on my road to becoming the champion. Brock learned me so much about Pokémon battles when I was just a newbie, it seemed a logical place to start my new journey. I won the rematch, but not with ease. Brock was stronger than ever, it was a tough match, but I won in the end. I felt my heart race as soon as we threw the first pokéball, it was so good to feel like that again. Brock told after our match that he started with something called EV training, and that's how his Onix was able to shake off a Hydro Pump from my Blastoise. I need to learn more about this training method. I might call Blue and ask him about it.

Walking through Viridian Forest on my way to Pewter City, man that brought memories back, seems like yesterday I left Pallet Town for the first time, fighting my way through the forrest and catching everything that moved. It feel so good to be back on the road and with a goal. In Viridian I meet this boy with long orange-ish hair called Silver. Silver was lost in the forrest, so I helped him to find his way to Viridian City, he told he was looking for his father after a long time in Johto. Silver told he also was a pokémon trainer, and next time we meet, we would battle. Looking towards it, Silver!

My mind keeps running back to that battle against Gold, he battle with such passion and his Pokémon seemed like a extension of himself, in a strange way. I need to learn that too. Afterall, strength isn't all in a Pokémon battle. It's timing, communication between trainer and pokémon, experience, trust. I have always know this. I must have forgotten, my memory haven't been the same since my encounter with that strange creature at Cinnebar's coast several years ago... That's why I started writing this diary.

Seems like Nurse Joy is done with my Pokémon now. I will be heading to Mt. Moon and Cerulean City in the morning, so I better get some rest.

Good night.
