♠Aubrey Pierce ♠ Gif of Francisco Lachowski as Alex Black

Recap:

"Because the new girl still has hers on." 'Miss Gray' responded. All heads turned to me as I stared. I sighed and looked at Mr. Wilson as if to say 'Do I have to?' "Yes, Aubrey. Take them off." Once again, I sighed and sat up. Slowly, I reached for my glasses. Quickly, I pulled them off. I heard gasps from all around me. They saw two things. My scars...

And my blind eye.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My blind eye was actually replaced with a fake eye that can move, but I cannot see out of it. I guess I should explain. I only remember the last four years of my life. One day, I woke up in a strange house with random strangers and scars covering my body. I'd asked the strangers what happened to me and they said I was attack. By what, they didn't know.

Anyways, that almost an hour ago. After I took off my aviators, I ran out. Do you blame me? I had more than 20 people staring at a portion of my face. Seriously, have they never seen a big scar or three? Anyways, I ran to the girls' bathroom. That's where I've been for the past hour.

After the bell rang, I slipped on my aviators and walked out of the bathroom. Chatter surrounded me. I pushed through the crowds and to my locker I had previously found. Quickly, I pulled out the books I needed and left.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing else happened to me until lunch. Every cliche has a lunch battle. Just kidding, just kidding. I walked into the cafeteria and towards an empty table. I didn't have any money or food for that matter. I just lied there on the table for a good three minutes until I was interrupted by a certain red head. Hello there, she devil.

The red head snorted at my tolerance of her. She looked pretty pissed and said, "Hello there, freak. Why are you here?" Oh, she wants to insult me. I laughed at her and continued to lie there. "Ahem. Freak. Scoot this is my table." Um, no. "Seriously, can you not hear me? Move biatch." Gray said. I am about to beat the absolute shit out of this girl.

"Hey, new girl!" A new voice yelled. Alex, I assumed. He walked over to the table I was on and sat down, leaving Gray standing. "Alex," She giggled. Oof, no PDA. "Why are you sitting with this freak?" Gray asked. "Freak? What makes you say that, Charlotte?" Charlotte Gray, wow I've heard nothing about you!

While I was lost in my own little world, Charlotte reached over and tried pull the glasses off my face. Tried. As she reached over, I roughly grabbed her hand and held it. Charlie's face contorted in anger, then fear.

"Let me go, freak!" She exclaimed. Anger took over as I bent her hand backwards. Angry thoughts filled my head. "Newbie?" Immediately I let go of the she devil and turned to look at whoever was talking to me.

It was Alex. The dipshit. I rose my eyebrow, silently questioning him. "You looked a bit angry. Thought I'd help you out before you get suspended in your first day." Alex continued. I appreciated that thought, considering my anger would've gotten far worse.

I smiled at Alex and picked up my stuff. Silently, I walked away with a smile. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alex go for what I left behind.

It was a note that said the words, "The name's Aubrey" leaving him happy all day long.

AFTER SCHOOL

I rode home on my bike and opened my apartment door. I trudged inside and flopped on the couch. My life is long and sucks. I glanced at the clock and sighed. It was barely even five.

Sighing once again, I got up and opened the fridge. Old McDonald's and Taco Bell. Damn I need more food. After putting the fast food into the microwave, I slipped back onto the couch and onto my phone. I started scrolling through my Instagram and liking miscellaneous pictures. A knock on the door interrupted me.

Immediately I was on edge. Who knows where I live and why are they here. I grabbed the bat behind the couch and crept up to the door. I looked through the peep hole and saw no one. No one at all. Confused, I opened the door and looked around. Still, no one. I turn to leave but something stops me. A letter at my feet.

Nice talking to you Aubrey.

After finding the note by the door, I went to my room and lied down. After pondering who I'd "talked" to, I came to the conclusion it was Alex. Stupid Alex. Making me feel like I'm being watched.

Only one thought was in my head when I fell asleep. How did he find my house?

That and I forgot my food in the microwave.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, I saw a boy. A young one probably 10 years old. I watched myself whisper something to him before she slammed her surroundings.

All of a sudden, I, myself,  was running through the dark, unaware of the creatures near me. I was panting. Hard. Branches scratched at my pale skin.

Soon, there was a light. Not just any light. A house light. A porch light. Just like that, I was almost there. Steps away.

My breathing remained hard as I focused on getting there and away from what was behind me.

I was there. Suddenly, something jerked me back. Not something. Someone. Just as I turned...

It went black.

I woke up with a great gasp. Seeing my room, I calmed down. Sighing, I tried to lift my hand up.

Tried.

Soon I realized I not only couldn't lift my hand, but my whole body. My breaths began to come in quick pants. I was freaking out. Trying to calm my breath, I started to think. Blossoms. Reading. Eating. Aviators. Trouble. Help. Eggplants.

Pretty soon, I could clench my fist. I whimpered into the night with no one to hear me. Repeated those seven words in my head, I stayed frozen in bed for what felt like an hour before I could move again. It was probably close to 15 minutes.

The words spelt out breathe. They were four things I like and three I don't. It's a thing my therapist taught me. I'm part of the 8% of the world that has regular sleep paralysis. I did take medication for it, but when I moved I forgot to get a refill so...

Sleep paralysis occurs after the brain shuts off muscle activity for the night. When people with sleep paralysis wake up, their brain is too slow to turn on the muscles again right away. It's almost like being legitimately being paralyzed for a portion of time. Oh well.

Just another side affect.
