One snap later, I arrived right on the front steps, I let go of Percival's arm and said, "Good night. I had a nice time." I noticed how quiet he was.

"I'll see you tomorrow at school," he replied as he walked down the street and turned the same corner that we both did not so long ago. I knocked on the door and looked at my watch. I'm still one minute early.

Mr. Bunter opened the door and said, "Right on time."

"I'm so sorry that I didn't arrive earlier Mr. Bunter, but I kind of. Lost track of time?" I answered this with my arms shrugging off the warm breeze that made Mr. Bunter shiver.

"Come in Ventisca, it's cold outside." I couldn't help but think Oh, really? I hadn't noticed. It's true though, I really didn't notice, and it scared me to imagine how I would react to warm weather versus cold.

The fire was still going in the fireplace. Shadows made everything on the walls and on the floor obscured in darkness. It felt good to discard my English accent and just be me.

I went up the stairs and said to Charlie's dad, "Good night Mr. Bunter." Mr. Bunter waved as he walked towards the kitchen. He's the kind of guy that always gets a sweet tooth before he goes to bed. So, I didn't question it, when I heard him open and close the fridge from the kitchen.

When I reached the second floor, I took off the high heels and tip-toed to my room. However, I wasn't silent enough. "You're back?" asked Jason, as he yawned so loudly that I shushed him. He scrunched up his nose at my reaction. "What? I get to yawn as loud as I want."

"No you don't, and what are you doing up?" I asked him as I went into my room to turn on the light.

His footsteps followed me as he said, "I'm a light sleeper. Don't blame me for that, blame genetics." I actually laughed, but then I stopped myself. Another trait that Jason and I inherited from Grandpa Italy (we don't know his name) is our loud laughter.

Then, as if I took away the wood from the dam another person entered my room.

"Hello." Said Charlie, with his hair sticking up. I went to the drawers in my room and pulled out a pair of socks and slipped them on my feet effortlessly.

"Go to sleep you two," I say as I started to get a set of fresh pajamas. When I turned around from my closet, Jason's frown was synonymous to Charlie's. Let's face the facts; I knew that they weren't going to budge until I fed up some words. I passed them and said, "The question portion of our interview will convene once I finish changing. Is that clear?"

Charlie and Jason nodded in agreement with one another before they both looked at me and said at the same time, "Clear." And they say that guys aren't interested to hear about a girl's date. They're just as bad as if I had BFF girlfriends.

I made sure that I dressed slowly, but that didn't help matters. When I opened the bathroom door, Jason and Charlie were leaning themselves against the wall in the hallway. It looked like they were going to nod off to sleep. I thought that I was home free and tried to sneak past the both of them to my room. I almost closed the door when Jason put his foot in it and asked, "What happened Venti?" His yawn was even louder this time.

Hearing Mr. Bunter's footsteps, I said to Jason and Charlie, "Do you want to explain to Mr. Bunter why we're just hanging out in the hallway without sleeping a wink?"

With that said, Charlie and Jason quickly walked towards their room and I turned off the light in mine and plummeted myself on the comfortable cushions. For a while, I heard the shuffling of Mr. Bunter's feet as he was brushing his teeth, flossing, and rinsing. It's his usual routine on and off the road before he goes to bed.
