WOOSUNG

we got into the car and it was already night time. 9:07pm. i didn't want to make the 10 minutes inside the car an awkward one, so i decided to ask hana some questions about herself.

"so, how old are you? just realised i never asked you that question,"

"i'm 22."

"wow, you're way younger than you look. glad i'm not a pedophile or anything haha."

"how 'bout you?" she asked the same question.

"i'm 25." i replied, realising that we weren't that much different in terms of ages. "hmm, what's your hobby? typical question, i know." i continued.

"probably listening to music. most of the times after i get hit by either one of my parents, i go to the park and stay there for hours just listening to music. don't know how i don't ever get bored from it, to be honest."

"listening to music, that's interesting. i like playing the guitar, sometimes write my own lyrics too."

she turned to look at me as i saw from the corner of my eye while i was driving. she suddenly seemed more interested after i mentioned playing the guitar.

"any type of music you specifially like?" she asked, still staring at me. it seemed like she was smiling. that was the first time i've seen her like that and wow, she was more beautiful than i expected when she smiles.

"yeah, i like soft rock, i guess? and pop? i really like listening to day6's music, afterall jae, who's a member of day6, is one of my good friends."

"day6? jae? one of your good friends? are you kidding me? i-i love day6," she said as soon as i finished my last sentence about jae and i being good friends. i chuckled at her confession, i found it somewhat cute.

"yeah, we've been good friends for quite a while now," i said as we pulled up at my house. we got our stuff from the back of the car and headed into the house. mom and dad were watching a movie together, dad's arms wrapped around mom. i truly wish i could be like that with someone special in the future. my brother was probably already sleeping because he always slept before 10pm. not interrupting my parents, i gestured to hana to follow me up to my room.

i opened the door to my room and went in first, then hana went it. she was looking around when i realised i had a ton of posters put up.

"don't judge me by my posters, please. yes, this is my room. you can sleep on the bed, i'll sleep on the sofa. the toilet's there if you need it," i showed her around my room, pointing to a door opposite my bed.

"no, it's ok. i'm fine sleeping on the sofa,"

"nope! you're sleeping on the bed. it's really nice there," i said, smiling at her before turning around to the sofa and walking towards it. "i don't mind sleeping on the sofa because i do that often while i was watching the tv at like, 1 in the morning."

"well, glad i'm not the only one who stays up until 1." hana said as she took out her clothes from the paper bag and put them at one side neatly.

i smiled while looking at her. she truly was a pretty, kind person. she doesn't deserve parents like hers, she deserves so much more. and i'm hopefully the one who's her "so much more," along with my parents.

the both of us chatted for a few hours before we realised it was almost 1 in the morning. we were already ready to sleep, but of course we couldn't. we clicked so easily. it's unbelievable that we were able to talk for so long.

"damn, almost 7 hours since i first saw you," i looked at hana. she wasn't replying, but she was smiling once again.

"have you ever fallen in love?" i was curious, even though i didn't have a particular reason why.

"i-i can't even fall asleep." she replied. we looked at each other for a few seconds before laughing at what hana said.

"then, do you believe in love at first sight?"

instantly right after i asked that, she replied without giving much thought, as if she has already thought about this a long time ago.

"no, i don't. i don't believe in love at first sight. i don't believe in love, in the first place. it's because i don't love anyone. no one loves me either, so honestly, what's the point?"

i stared at her for a good minute. silence fell upon the room.

maybe i'll be the one to show you love.
