Britt's P.O.V
I rub my eyes, trying to wake up. I look down at myself to see that I'm wearing a long strapless pink and orange dress with brown sandals.
The teenager guy comes into the room and grabs my wrists.
"C'mon," he says leading me around the corner.
"Where are you taking me?" I ask. "And why am I wearing this dress?"
"No questions," The boy replies, pulling me faster.
Long story short, I end up on a stage with tons of Hispanics staring at me.
"This one is from the United States, she's a hard worker and she can sing. Do I hear 100?"
My heart beat quickens. They're not really doing this, I think. This is all a dream. Sooner or later I'll wake up.
"100!" someone calls out.
"120"
"125!"
"137!"
And the bidding goes on.
"200!" a young man with a cross necklace calls out.
I study his face. He looks kind.
"250!" another man yells.
Oh no, I think. This guy looks pretty bad to me.
"250? Do I hear 255? Going once, going twice, sold to Mr. Mendoza!"
Before I can realize that this is real, I'm being shoved off the stage and into the back of a blue pickup truck.
Mendoza chains me to the bed of the truck. Then he does something that I never thought anyone would do. He kisses me full on the lips.
I'm to surprised to do anything, let alone pull away. When he's finished, he pulls back and grins.
"You'd better get used to that," he laughs.
BREAKING POINT
"You have arrived at your destination in Santiago," the pilot announced.
"Thanks Jerry," Korey thanked him before getting off the jet with the others.
Jen was surveying the area.
"He's been here," she told John. "See? Terrok dropped his I.D badge."
"Which way did he go?" John asked.
"My guess is that he went south," Seth spoke up."I mean, it's common sense. All the tire tracks are going that direction."
"Not everything is common sense," Korey reminded him."If you look closer, you see that one or two trucks went north, that way."
"What do we do?" Jen asked. Should we follow the north tracks?"
Korey nodded. "Let's set out now before it gets dark."
